these labo vr goggles need a strap so I don't have to keep holding them up to my face. IDK how they expect people to play in more than 10-15 minute bursts with these things.
then again, knowing nintendo that's probably on purpose.

Just pre-ordered Yakuza Kiwami 2 on PC. Really looking forward to that. Also decided to finish Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor before getting to war.
i hopped onto fire emblem train couple weeks ago
playing awakening on lunatic because hard is too easy, past chapter 13 and my Robin is literally invincible and i'm having way too much fun considering amount of restarts on average map
especially considering how many of those restarts were caused by nothing but my own stupidity i have gotten so fucking bad at any kind of tactic and strategic games

Went back to play some more Muramasa Rebirth
The main gist of the game is good enough for me to justify buying it again on Vita, but the four DLC campaigns on where this game really shines. I love the Vanillaware style of all of these distinct characters and play styles. My one very small gripe is that Odin Sphere did all of these same ideas better. Of course, "worse than Odin Sphere" doesn't mean much when it's one of my favorite games of all time.
I haven't met a single Vanillaware title that I've disliked.
Spoiler:
its not about manipulating the ai though, its about not being a retard and putting units into positions that get them killed (getting good)
rng rarely matters if i battle properly
udk why so many early units are so fucking dogshit though

But that's the thing, you don't really need any particular skill to just RPS the AI to death, just keep your pegasi one square away from max range of archers and they'll charge the Great Knight instead (even melee if you're playing Fates). Can't really enjoy strategy like that.
Early units, ignoring noob traps like prepromotes (Frederick, Titania, etc) usually tend to shape up after promotion, so it's just a matter of grinding the early low bases out (except Lords who usually start out decent) in the time honored tradition.
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
The thing is though that there is limited amount of characters that i can field and i need good characters to survive early chapters so i can have one, maybe 2 (mostly just one) weak characters carried by stronger characters to get them leveled
So Sully, Stahl and Vaike just get benchen immediately because there is are no slots for them
Well Vaike has that thing where i can have him hit someone with a hammer if i really want to (but i really)
dont but Sully and Stahl are just not salvageable, they are fucking cavalry and they have no speed and no punch
Granted my perspective might be skewed given i play on Lunatic and so many things just kill you outright early along with how many things are there out to kill you
-------------
My Chrom fucking sucked so much an a second iteration
i'm currently playing third iteration to change things up a little (i kept the save from second iteration if i want to revert if i decide it wasnt worth)
though it shapes up fine so far
this time Chrom seems to have some okay stats but i feel like he is mostly at the mercy of rng and treat him as a support unit primarily
-------------
that promotion system is a bit fucky
timeline #3 turned out great for testing, however its time to go back to timeline #2 because i can achieve what i want to achieve there which is super great

Just finished Bloodborne. I have to say, I didn't really like it as much as I expected. I guess it's because I'm not a fan of monster/large bosses and Bloodborne was full of them (for obvious reasons).
Also I don't know if it's because of blood vial crutch but none of the bosses were really that hard. Each game has had at least one or two "fuck my life" bosses except this one.
Overall I'd probably rate the games:
Dark Souls > Sekiro > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 2 (with DLC) > Bloodborne > DS2 (without DLC)
Just as a heads up, Awakening is one of the easiest Fire Emblem games (not counting Lunatic+, which is just BS artificial difficulty). If you want a more difficult one (and one with more than like, one map type/objective), I'd suggest either of the GBA ones or Conquest.
That said, Awakening is stupidly fun despite its flaws and I put way too many hours/playthroughs into it.
So I tried to boot up Overwatch to take a look at the changes since I last logged on and saw a 4 hour update waiting. So I booted up the Spyro remake and after 4 hours I was 60% done Spyro 1 so I just kept going. That first game is really simple, but still has some really annoying challenges. Having a free moving camera is a godsend though. After coasting through most of the game I lost 20 lives on the final boss because it's a chase over a death pit with slowly retracting platforms.
Spyro 2 has a bunch of improvements in the level designs and extra areas after the level has been cleared, but the nature of the collectables makes it feel less like it's rewarding you for exploration and more like the game giving you extra tasks to make the level last more. Gating some parts of the level behind later abilities I often enjoy because it lets the levels expand out, but in a platformer that 184/200 gems annoys the hell out of me. I want to go into a level get 100% clear and move on to the next, keeping that big number at the bottom nice and round.

You'd hate FE4, then. I specifically remember one map that was large enough it took like 6 turns just to go from top to bottom (if not more). Capture the castle, bottleneck so only a few can go up at a time. Okay, fine. Awesome, captured the castle. Enemy reinforcements appear next to your own castle. Route the enemy and prevent your castle from being taken. But all my best units are up north at this castle. And a recruitable unit was in those reinforcements so you had to make sure to not kill him.
Thankfully I had left my generals and soldiers/heroes/whatever back at my castle and had just sent fliers and cavalry to the other one. Still, oof. Best FE game. Strategy out the wazoo. Also child units that replaced gen 1 units because story.
not that i mind the concept but the execution
if i could tell where they spawn it would be manageable
but when fliers spawn in 4 spots at once its really hard to tell where to put fucking Maribelle so that she doesnt die
Maribelle Ricken was a mistake they still arent S rank fuck why am i doing this

Finished my lunatic playthrough, tbh fighting against maps of max leveled units isnt very fun in this game
especially when you try to level a couple of units you like
i'll stick to hard in the next games
