There’s talk going around that it’s actually something more akin to Made In Abyss, Shin Sekai Yori, or Madoka Magica.

If THAT ends up being true, things could get interesting. I absolutely adore stories that pull that off well.

It's the opposite of edgy. It's actually the closest to Bakarina spiritually despite not actually using a villainess plot.

Edgy Bakarina’d be Lastame. But even that show is not that edgy beyond how horrible Pride was in the game. I dunno if there’s a villainess story that is full on edgy. Maybe in LNs or WNs, but not anime

There was Raelina from last season, which has all the tropes of a villianess anime except instead the MC is the act 1 death the story opens on and not the antagonist.

I actually enjoyed that one.

JJK: I totally forgot about Geto choking Getwo like that, good stuff right there. Based how Gojo's too fat for the Prison Realm to move. Yuji's hilarious. Shame about the death game around him.
S-Rank: The animation's nothing to write home about, but the backgrounds are pretty. Ange's hilarious.
