That isn't what I am saying. Think about it like this, Archer is given the choice to stay in UBW and declines. The reason is he has no interest in this world. Unlike other Servants, Archer would not want to stay. The only reason he'd want to stay is if he hadn't resolved his little vendetta with Shirou, which is why he is still trying to kill him in FHA. It's not that he needs to break his contract to stay, it's that if he had a reason (and there's only one reason) to stay, fulfilling that reason would mean not being contracted to someone who would order him not to kill Shirou.

This end would not have happened if your master had been with you" (a bit of my own head canon here is this was a nod back to that old Saber vs archer verses which said basically the way shirou and Rin used archer and shirou would determine the victor. Archer nearly won, but Shirou gave Saber the edge she needed to make the turn around, had Rin been backing archer up, she might have been able to swing things back in archer's favor. anyways...) Archer responds something like "Dont be ridiculous, if that were here, I wouldnt have even been allowed to fight you."
not only saying Rin is still considered archer's master but heavily implying if she so desired she could have commanded him to leave Shirou alone.
