TM official romanisations can often be suspect anyway ... and Karen is the more usual spelling. On the other hand, whether Nasu actually had the more usual spelling in mind is very much up for debate. Anyway, the official romanisation is Caren, and I'd go with that.

Hmm. I personally recall seeing a track on an OST or similar somewhere with the K instead of the C but can't seem to find / recall it...

If anything, the current flaglist images are using KAREN (and this is what ranmafan suggested as the translation). While not a biggie issue, me thinks consistancy could be something worth noting; reading through the novel I have seen a few CARENs scattered about here and there.
