That’s really pathetic, that’s all.
so would be getting high off the fumes of shoot the commie rhetoric to the point of openly cheering for a, at the very least soon to be US backed, coup i suppose but its all in the eye of the beholder

Reportedly trump and co were shocked that their proposal in the senate actually got less votes then a clean CR despite having 6 more republicans in the chamber. Judging from the fact that a draft executive order just leaked, he may be about to blink.
...seriously I don’t care which side of the aisle you are on, can we all come together for just a shining moment, and agree as a nation that Jared Kushner is in fact a bloomin idjit
Not exactly surprised on that. It's Roger Stone. The man has been quite open about his questionably-legal tactics for years. Not to mention his own predictions about the investigation coming for him.
The real holy shit moment will be if he takes a deal and starts talking. I'm personally expecting it (I tend to think he'll favor himself over his employers and friends), but he's sworn he'd stick by Trump.

Marduro's actual legitimization is irrelevant when the point of debate is US military intervention which is something the opposition is intent on provoking. At that point, with any kind of historical memory of US interventions in South America or elsewhere, the actions of the opposition become immoral.
I'm personally not a fan of Marduro, it's clear that he fucked up Chavez legacy with cronyism and unwise economic decisions, and he certainly has to go. But taking the bay of pigs route isn't going to result in a stable Venezuela, just a Venezuela the west no longer gives a shit about. At worst with roving death squads, the beginning of which we are already seeing.

They just reached a short 3 week deal.
As for your question: it's the cost of doing business. These shutdowns happen because both sides think they can gain from it politically, either because of extorting a deal or because they want the shutdown to happen so they can blame the other side for it.
You can't just give in to the other side to end the shutdown, or you're saying that it works and they'll just keep doing it. So you have to hold firm until everyone's feeling enough pain that both sides collectively decide it's not worth doing it when they could do things the old fashioned way.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Oh, a military intervention by the US would certainly be well beyond their mandate, no matter how much they love playing World Police. But political sanctions, (which is what the linked article talked about, If I'm not mistaken) those are a staple. It's just about the only thing the UN is good for, too.

Once and always and nevermore.
It's mainly the fact that if I was really convinced this is an acute situation that requires such urgent handling I wouldn't then make the TSA operate at greatly diminished capacity because in an acute crisis situation you would need that force.
Which kinda shows the whole deal to be showmanship. Which it is. I mean why are people who are usually against the state intervening in any way in private affairs suddenly cheering for military eminent domain to literally nationalize private property for the purposes of wall building?
What is the benefit you personally see from a wall? Aren't you pretty far from the border?

our concern is the starving population of venezuela, our solution is starvation
[04:55] Lianru: i3uster is actuallly quite cute
Actually it just shows the TSA is pointless
People actually performing searches tend to be a lot more effective in security matters than physical barriers but I'll give you that I do not have stats on that.
Considering how often it has been reported anywhere in the world that people can rather easily bypass border walls unless they have the staffing and lethal intent of the Berlin Wall I'd wager my conjecture's rather accurate here though.
We can do a simple funny thought experiment here with that wall if we consider that one effective despite being built by dirty commies. A simple upscaling of that personnel would require permanent staffing of over 40.000 troops, over 12.000 dogs and a carpet of at least 40 million anti personnel mines.

did i say that i think this is dumb yet, this is very dumb, please just think for a second what you are doing here, they take planes dude
[04:55] Lianru: i3uster is actuallly quite cute
Indeed. It does bring up the point that such walls usually aren't raised on the border of a friendly nation/major trade partner, though. The most effective walls aren't simply there, or even just manned... they're backed by the understanding that attempting to cross them is a good way to end up dead. Since we're not at war with Mexico and aren't likely to produce a DMZ-like kill zone, the wall has always been a bit... yeah...
That's not to say that building one will have no impact on illegal immigration. It's just not going to stop it by any means and it'll be a new, expensive piece of infrastructure that we'll have to maintain going forward. Not to mention all the legal issues involved in the use of imminent domain to sieze land. The last time the border fence saw significant expansion was over a decade ago, and there are still people in litigation over how much the government will eventually get around to paying them. Further, when you consider there's no current wall design planned that hasn't already been defeated by tactics currently in use by border-crossers... basically the only way this thing would work better than what's already there is that it would be new. If you really want it to work, the border patrol would have to be given the order to kill illegal crossers on sight instead of in self-defense.
