And I can't say why Hillary lost. Probably a lot of reasons; the endless Clinton conspiracies, her hubby, being female, emails, Republican-liteness as a 3rd Way Dem, DNC screwing Bernie Part 1, Russian trolls, her personality and insulting the voters, not relying on soundbite policy proposals, etc... I mean, I voted for her. Doesn't mean I like her. I voted Bernie in the primary.

I think that is fake news too, since the higher the person is on the top of the pyramid, the more fearful they will be of changes.
Bill and Hillary had been smeared/called out for their positions since before Bill was President, and it only intensified during the 2016 primary/general. Trump eviscerated her on trade, which really hurt her in the midwest swing states known for their loss of manufacturing jobs.
Voter studies post-general election show that this is a bullshit talking point that Hillary and her supporters refuse to stop bringing up to hamstring Sanders. Sanders voters backed her 90% after she was endorsed by Sanders (far more than what Andrew Yang said of his own voters when he directly endorsed Biden this week, he literally said that 40% of his voter base wouldn't support a Democrat but himself). The remaining 10% that did anything else is actually a smaller % than similar cases from previous elections and the so-called NeverTrumpers.

The refusal to stop bringing it up might explain why I keep hearing it. Coupled with some of the DNC leaks over debate schedules.

During the election, many people, including myself really thought trump couldn’t win. This led to a situation where a group of people decided to not vote for anyone or write in Mickey Mouse or whatever. Clinton won the popular vote by several million votes. But 186,000 people in the heartland elected to stay home and smoke pot.
the thinking, as I remember being repeatedly verbalized at the time. Was essentially “well Trump ain’t gonna win, and I refuse to support the lesser of two evils. They don’t deserve my vote!” Or other, similar refrains.
again I’m not calling anyone out in this post as while I certainly did support Clinton I definitely allowed myself into being deluded into believing she couldn’t lose. A mistake in perspective I have worked hard to correct.
And blaming that on pissed off Bernie supporters is a false equivalence when data shows that 90% of Bernie supporters switched to Hillary. Hillary lost because she wasn't attractive to the independent/Republican voters that Obama got, end of story.
I didn’t say anything of the sort. Actually since I noted this primarily took place in the heartland if there was any subtext at all despite me saying twice I was trying to avoid such, it would likely refer to suburbanite middle class centrists vs the more liberal left.
Damn, it's almost like a system of socialized medicine would be good to have right about now. Probably not though, better to have some pharma bro "innovate" insulin again instead.
