I think the problem here is that, and I'll be objective as I can here, there are just too many alternative interests aside from being ones borne of principle.

On Biden and the centrist Democrat side, they see this as another way of splintering the party, and to be fair are not hearing out allegations as they would have for Dr. Ford during the Kavanaugh case, they want it summarily stamped out to keep up Biden's momentum. Though to be honest, Biden has been trying to coast into the White House without really doing much, so maybe this will at least put enough fire into his belly to start bringing out more energy into his campaign against Trump, since this WILL be a part of it and would have been used against him anyway. The asspain about Bernie supporters still runs rampant as well, and for them strategically it just seems awful timing when Trump and his lackeys have gotten away with so much despite being awful people too, so the supporters are feeling it's an attack on both sides, set fire to it all type of move that will hurt everybody, which is why they would fight Reade over it.

On Reade's side and tangentially, the independent/Bernie supporter route, it's a way to get at Biden for the primary, as sort of a last gap before the race for the general really starts chugging, because let's be honest, Covid is more and more likely to muck that up because Trump's administration, if the pressers and his dick sucking press secretary have shown anything, it is that they will fuck this up however they can for personal political profit and economic gain. Getting back to point, its seeming like less trying to get justice for Reade and more to oust Biden on that camp. Which to be frank, is partially his own fault, because he is not working as an ideal candidate, especially in this crisis.

So, the best thing he could do, if he is really innocent, is to calmly let the investigations play out, while also doing what he can to assuage the American people by actually exacting influence as a former VP and possible President for things like getting the House back in action, pushing harder for vote by mail (because that decision made in NY is going to hurt Dems even more, christ what are they doing), and in all aspects upping his attack on Trump's broken policies, because Trump is already pushing the attack ads. I truly believe that he is getting much more flack because he is going about this election like a grandfather sitting in the easy chair who won't be aroused by anything but the dinner bell. So I reiterate my earlier point that maybe this will get him to wake up and take this seriously, and not act like he already won by default.

It's mainly his weakness as a candidate, period. I would say this is hurting him primarily because he is just not ponying up to the plate as he should. For good or bad, if he were a stronger candidate he would not have the pushback he does, it just that because he is weaker, that means he gets it more.
Plus his rather just odd "we're going back to the 50s" mannerisms on top of the patronizing he does when challenged, and just being weak on Trump in general aren't helping him. Like, his campaign needs to do a total revision of their methodology because whoa.

Oh boy, the Russiagate allegation again. Russia sure got an amazing return on their paltry, what, 3-5 million USD of facebook ads against a demographic that by and large doesn't use facebook anymore. Not to mention that Tara was originally behind Warren, only switching to Bernie when Bernie was gaining momentum in the primary after the 2nd round of primaries.

Again, some of the most highly Democratic-praised people when it comes to investigating sexual assault claims, who have done far more looking into Tara's statements than either of us posting on this board, believe there is something worth looking into on Tara's case. Tara's claims have more evidence to them based on the idea that independent corroboration lend them strength. Despite what's been stated recently, this isn't something that Tara just suddenly decided to come out with when the primary was down to Bernie and Biden, with it leaning towards Biden.

There is very little that Biden stands to lose by releasing any relevant documents (i.e. mentions Tara by name) that would be found in his University of Delaware sealed records, assuming that Biden's statement that nothing inappropriate happened. And before you say that he shouldn't feel compelled to release these records, again, this is just applying the same level of scrutiny to Tara as was afforded to Dr. Ford, so any argument about privacy rights is bullshit unless you're fine with hypocrisy on Biden's part.

If someone like Tara came out with the same type of claims against Bernie or Trump, do you really think CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, or The Washington Post would remain as lackluster in terms of investigating this case? No way do I believe this, because I remember The Washington Post tripping over their feet to publish a story in favor of the later proven patently false claim from that one Kavanaugh accuser within hours of her making the claim.

Fewer new sanctions, as those are mostly done against Trump's will. Reduced international attention to Ukraine. Greater control in the Syrian conflict. To name a few.
