It all depends on how successful the entire venture is. It would be amazing if it could, but the fact this thing happens every 5-10 years with pretty much the same reactions and no progress at all has made me really cynical about whether the change ever will happen.

Well, I don't live in the US but it seems to be getting some results this time around. The Minneapolis City Council resolution seems to be heading in the right direction.

No, unfortunately, cancel culture is still alive and well. I'll be honest. My main concern has more to do with superficial costumes than actual politics. Dressing up as SS tends to be more "offensive" than dressing up as Red Army, probably because the average, ignorant American has no idea what a Red Army uniform even looks like.
