India has boycotted Chinese goods. China is apparently reliant on Australian iron. All foreign arrests, such as with the new laws in regards to Hong Kong, and all military trespasses should be treated as full-on acts of war. Like I said, China responded with Japan's re-militarization, not with aggression, but with fear, so the world as a whole should be more aggressive. Be grateful that I'm not suggesting the methods of Leonidas or Uncle Vlad.

Except when you realize everyone is going to make gestures and then take it back. It's like the FB boycott: most Facebook revenue comes from businesses that cannot afford to boycott FB in the first place. All the boycott can do is create a ruckus to extract prestige, not actually hurt the company long term... OTOH, Zuck will cry he's no longer as rich as he was a year ago, which given he's still a billionaire, is perfectly fine.

Yeah, that is pretty bad. However, most cars need regular maintenance, such as for AC, fans, tires, oil change, etc. so it is already a de facto "subscription".

These are literally features included with the car you bought, not maintenance. I can see BMW going under in the near future and (even now I think reality has eyes and it's watching this thread) cheap car manufacturers (wink) taking over their marketshare.

Oh that's easy. They just put mascots on the computer consoles, akin to vtubers with respective VAs. They become your car waifu or husbando. And you gacha roll to get them.

It's most likely a cost cutting thing. They have to have space for all that stuff by default so it all fits, and then they remove it as needed once the car gets actually ordered, but by putting it all in there and needing to unlock it they can just put out one single design and not have to customize it all on a customer by customer basis. Besides it's BMW, 90% of them get every available bell and whistle because people want the prestige of having a fully loader Beamer so they'll make out like bandits by nickle and dimeing every little thing. (the other 10% being people who want to look like they're successful but don't want to actually spend money on it and treat the car like 15 year old Corolla they got from their Great Uncle) If anyone other than a European company tried that, aside from maybe Tesla or other really high end manufacturers, they'd fall flat on their faces when everyone realizes how pointless all those things actually are.

kanye is a well known trump supporter and biden has been kicking his ass. Kanye is likely hoping if he scoops up some “for the lulz” protest votes that would have otherwise gone to Biden he might be able to play spoiler in Florida and a few other critical places
