That's the most effective order, hence why I enjoy having China and Russia gang up on the US while the EU stays neutral: The US finally gets torn apart, China is literally too weak to withstand a conflict, so India takes note and wins, tears down China but then realizes they can't handle the aftermath and collapses... then Russia is left, too exhausted and thin to throw its way around anymore, and eventually forced to become "Germany 2.0" and join the EU, which wrestles control away from the Merkel Dynasty and forces a more conciliatory approach to governance to take place in Brussels.

In the meantime, with no US and an Iran that knows what's gonna happen and is tired of being ragdolled around, we finally get the Iranians marching down Gaza, with Turkish troops pouring in from the North and Egyptians down even after Israel throws everything at them. Iran and Turkey end up overtaxed from this adventure, which means Erdo gets tossed and so does Khamenein. Iran gets their new Mossadegh, Turkey resumes Ataturk's trek and the closest "pole of power" is a supranational organization and not a single state.

Problem solved.

How about those Trump tax returns? $750 for two years and nothing for almost a decade before that? And he possibly owes the IRS $73 million in backtaxes for those years. It won't do anything to change the populaces opinions of him, since everyone who could be swayed by this was probably smart enough to realize that the guy who owned three failed casino's isn't a good businessman. Still funny to see the actual numbers. I want to see how he'll try to spin this in his favour tomorrow, and also suddenly introduce legislation to neuter the IRS.

So basically, Electors are chosen by state legislators. Normally, they follow an established rule within each state that's tied to the popular vote. It varies from state to state, but it's normally something along the lines of a percentage of Electors vote according to the proportion of the popular vote won by each candidate or whoever gets the most votes gets all the Electors. There's a deadline between the end of the popular election and the actual Electoral vote. They don't happen at the same time. The state legislatures can, if they so choose, toss out the results of the popular vote and choose Electors based on whatever criteria they want, who will vote for whoever they want. All they really have to do is claim the popular vote is illegitimate for some reason. Like, say, fraud.

This allows the state politicians to throw out the actual election results of their states. It's what rxrx mentioned. And is apparently something that the GOP and Trump campaign have been discussing, should he lose the Red swing states.

It's less that and more that the Party is literally dying out. Most of their members are Baby Boomers and Gen Xers, the former of which are dying due to natural causes. They essentially lost the culture wars for a couple of generations due to how much damage GOP and Conservative policy has done domestically and abroad, coupled with numerous scandals plaguing their leadership and the toxic, divisive, and exclusionary nature of their rhetoric. They basically shut the majority of Millennials and Zoomers, as well as many immigrant groups, so as their old members die, they're not getting enough replacements to compete without rigging the political, electoral, and judicial systems in their favor.

That's what this is really about. And also why the party rallied to Trump. It's all about trying to fight against an inevitable shift in American society against them. Any extension is worthwhile for them, regardless of how, because it's a matter of survival for the party.

Basically, they've seen this coming for decades, it's just actually starting to really take effect.

Given this, I am simply using the Chinese adage of "一不做二不休". Don't do bad things, but if you do, never stop. And of course, alleged witches surviving being falsely accused of witchcraft by doing actual witchcraft and "purifying" the village, that accused them, of its fear and envy, as opposed to rolling over and dying just so that the stupid peasants can sleep more peacefully (Dies Irae's Rusalka > Grimoire of Zero's Sorena and Castlevania's Lisa).
