you know how to fix this
The "safe space" concept is a real one that already existed before, but not what these people are asking for.
More of a freedom of speech thing.
It's kind of weird, we've looped around. Segregation used to be the calling card of racists, and integration was the way to go, but now the minority cultures themselves want to willfully segregate.
Well, not the minority cultures. The small groups inside them that talk about safe spaces and cultural appropriation and whatnot.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Re: Ramen
Yakuza 5 makes me super goddamn hungry, when you go into restaurants they all have 15 menu items with accompanying photos of the real world food. Tonkontsu everywhere, it's torture.
Trump asked that Carson be placed on a separate but equal stage at debates
Not even that. The term is used in two senses, in general:first, the creation of a public environment that seeks to not offend or threaten its occupants according to their feelings on the matter, and second, a kind of private club for minority issues. Clubs aren't segregation.
Rather ironically as one person commenting about this elsewhere pointed out, the first food mentioned in the article is
Baguette. As in French baguette. Guess *puts on Cat eye glasses* seeing as the privileged Imperialist French oppressors occupied Vietnam it is impossible for Vietnamese to culturally appropriate anything French. In fact the French imposed their toxic gluten batons on the poor native POC.The traditional Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwich that Stevenson Dining Hall promised turned out to be a cheap imitation of the East Asian dish. Instead of a crispy baguette with grilled pork, pate, pickled vegetables and fresh herbs, the sandwich used ciabatta bread, pulled pork and coleslaw.
No, they don't. saying "now the minorities want to segregate themselves!" is an absurd false equivalence to what segregation actually was during the Jim Crow era.
What the "safe spaces" people want is an echo chamber where they can positive feedback loop their own grievances into an unstoppable wave of self-righteousness. Basically, internet forums.

man, this article http://oberlinreview.org/9055/news/c...-students-say/
Trying to make a dish and failing doesn't automatically equal "disrespectful cultural appropriation!!!!" but college students will be college students.
I heard that learning Japanese if you aren't at least half Japanese yourself is disrespectful cultural appropriation because you'll be spreading a distorted image of Japanese culture to whoever you interact with, but that's silly because everybody knows people who learn Japanese are all shut-ins.
