I can accept your distinction, but I won't universalize it just so you can prove your point. "American Revolution" is quite widely used concept. So is the use of that word for our own independence movements at the end of 80s, although "revival" is more popular.

revolutions dont even have to be violent
or caused directly by people
or have anything to do with governance but thats what we are talking about now so its fine i guess
