Yay, Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest and kicked Russia's ass. Which is good because there are so many reasons why the contest shouldn't have been in Russia next year: Putin, LGBT rights, Putin, Ukraine's situation, Putin... Oh, and did I mention Putin already?
Russia had a good song, though. Well, so had Sweden.
We beat France!
I like the Eurovision stuff, but the winner is pretty much decided months in advance. Every year it's the favourite by the odds. I guess that makes it profitable, though.
Bookmaking has made me cynical about these things.

Actually, yes! Well before the finals, it was well popular and generally considered the strongest entry.
During the actual show they like to play it up as a big competition, but it never really is. It's a good show nonetheless.

I feel a bit bad for thinking like this, but I really hoped Russia wouldn't win. The song is okay and the girl probably means what she sings, but it plays too well together with Putin's propaganda.
Also happy we had a decent entry for the first time in like 10 years.
Yet we here in Finland didn't believe it before votes started to flood in... Oh, that was a memorable night!
well I saw Fury Road. I had no previous familiarity with Mad Max other than the popular knowledge of it popularizing that sort of post-apocalyptic desert bandit setting.
It was good. I walked out liking Avengers 2 more.

I don't take Eurovision seriously, so it really didn't matter to me who would win.
I didn't watch the contest but heard that for some reason Australia participated. Would have been great if they won.
