The really sad thing is that the Republicans are going to have complete majority in Congress and have a president and if anything bad happens, they're going to blame Obama and the democrats.

So this was probably the margin. Not that it was the only margin, it could have been made up among whites as well, but it's 'a' margin.
Oh I'm not saying they're going to have free rein, but if things go the way I think so, Majority in Congress, a president and probably a majority in the Supreme Court. It's a pretty stacked government towards Republicans.
Can the Democrats still do things, of course and hopefully they'll do their jobs, but it's hard to say that the Republicans do not have a clear opportunity to do what they want. You can't really ask for much more. I mean, yeah you could have a super majority as well, but I think that's asking for a bit much.
EDIT: The only real problem is that division in the republican party which can be an obstacle that needs to be overcome.

There's not going to be any division, Trump is going to get just about every elected official behind him because he just brought home the bacon. I don't know where you think the idea is coming from.
Oh, I have no doubt that a lot of republicans that were against him before will flop over to his side, but there is also a pretty big damn chance that some of the burnt bridges are not going to be rebuilt. Really, it all depends on which promises Trump decides to keep. He's been flip flopping on how he treats republicans a lot and how he treats their policies.

All of Trump's national security people are superhawks, and so is the right foreign policy establishment where he'll get everyone else from. It seems unlikely that we get a general isolationism besides whatever the administration does with Russia.
