Next week's headline: FBI abruptly halts Russia investigation, redirects all resources toward more pressing national security issues such as "Locking Her Up"
I mean the FBI already had to correct a bunch of Comey's testimony because he lied at the stand so who knows really.

Really though, purging everybody who helped you rise up is pretty standard banana republic dictator stuff so it's not that surprising I guess

Meanwhile, Chris Christie was last seen vanishing from sight behind Titan on his path out of our system.

I actually just poured myself a little whiskey to sit here and process this a minute.

all kidding aside, when I look at comey, I see a man who for all his faults (and they were fucking legion...) really believed in the FBI. as in a bone deep respect and devotion to the principles of the federal bureau of investigations.

I see a man who, in 2016, did not believe his letter would divert the presidency to trump, instead I think he believed that by sabatoging clinton he would clip a few points off her win and thus deny her valuable power in the senate as well as political capital. I believe that despite the fact that he probably preferred trump to clinton personally, he was likely guilt ridden over this action. I imagine he got himself to sleep at night by telling himself if he didnt do what he did one of his underlings would have leaked it anyway so it wasnt that big a deal.

When he said the idea that he had shifted the election made him sick to his stomach, I believe him. I expect having raised a cloud over the FBI that it will likely to a generation to heal, I imagine that horrifies him in a way that very likely only he himself can truly understand.

and this is probably where his chapter in the history book will come to a close. Oh I imagine he has a few speeches he will give, a few testimonies, etcetera. But wherever he is right now, quite possibly with his own drink in hand, he must be processing that too. That if twenty years from now, some over achieving brat picks his name out of a book to do a paper on, the story will end detailing how Comey's choices robbed the FBI of its impartiality, led directly to his own firing, and thus was unable to even try to atone for his own sins.

here's to you Comey. you actually found a way to punish yourself badly enough I honestly cant help but feel sorry for you.

It's a nice thought but luckily we won't have schools anymore in twenty years anyway.

Oh wait nothing, a man committed to the FBI's role doesn't use it as an election toy, period.

And he probably doesn't feel guilty. He's probably just upset that everyone can, MATHEMATICALLY, point to him betraying the United States. He doesn't feel bad due to his actions, just the consequences.

    He's sorry we were offended.

I'm sure there's many ways to bend the facts and make it look like an FBI director didn't betray the country but can alas
