We've always been Jim Crow in some shape or fashion, see how black dominant areas have remained largely poor before and after legislation pertaining to the civil rights movement of the 60s.
Republicans are guilty because they're the ones always pushing the envelope, Democrats are guilty because they, by and large, don't actually disagree with Republicans on many issues and would rather virtue signal to their purported base than do anything to actually help them. Remember, Democrats could have put a stranglehold on Republican's ability to fuck shit up Clinton and Obama, but they chose not to so that they can cater to corporations instead while enjoying all those unconstitutional powers from things like the Patriot Act.
There's also the fact that neither side wants to give up power when they're in charge. The Democrats could have fixed the gerrymandering issues, or the thousand other ways the Republicans have been messing with things for years, but the moment they get into power those same systems are instead working for them and there's no reason to change it. It's actually really short sighted of them, expecting to always be on the top of the pile.

Eh, the gerrymandering issue was seen as a mediocre regional issue that wasn’t worthy of much thought by the Ds all the way until 2010 when rove and co. Orchestrated a frankly brilliant scheme to ruthlessly exploit it. The first real opportunity to correct the issue doesn’t come for about another month.
that said depending on how said month shakes out I did actually doubt team blue will fix the issue because if they blow it up on the 4th empirical evidence suggests they will decide what’s good for the goose is good for the gander and see how many of their own super gerrymanders they can sneak by the newfound super red majority at the supreme court

I think you should understand already that videos are only a support tool for arguments, but in a written discussion forum like this one the bulk of the arguing must be made through, well, written arguing of one's own rather than dumping someone else's video work and calling it a day for a standard practice. Videos should not be the post itself as a general rule, just something to back an argument's point ocassionally.
If you just want to discuss through videos just stick to Youtube.

I'll be a bit more specific. The video from the 17 minute mark. Both sides appear to condemn the other side for not condemning the worst aspects of their own side, despite them doing so, at least verbally.
