The better question is, is anything about this serious? This literally just looks like a thinly-veiled attempt to pull Biden votes. Ye's made it clear he's utterly devoted to Trump by now, and while he's talked about running, it was for 2024 or later.

And sure, this will get him used to part of the campaign process for then and prime the voters for him at a later date. However, the fact that he's only getting into the race when Trump's polling in record lows when he's otherwise shown no interest is too big a shift. Plus, he theoretically appeals to groups that are widely regarded as Biden's; the black and young voters. Meanwhile, Trump's base would follow him through the gates of Hell.

I very much doubt anything in Kanye West's run is serious, except the threat he poses as a spoiler if the target populations are as dumb as Trump takes them for.
