An LAV would count as an IFV, IF it was the version that actually carried heavy armament. Still not remotely even a light tank, let alone an MBT. And yes, what you call it DOES matter, as I'm sure the writers of Wired well know.

I'm sure it does matter but everyone else who sees one of those things thinks "tank", even with it's main cannon removed.

I mean, even the police in my country have armored vehicles for transport to "dangerous" (read: infested with molotov-throwing morons) areas, even if they're basically tour buses with some protection bolted on. I don't find it at all odd that the police would need APC's in a country where the police may well end up under fire by nutjobs carrying modded AR15's instead.

... I should choose my words more carefully with that. I should have said "prompt a response". I also don't see how listing facts counts as "trolling"... Especially when said individuals themselves admit allegiance to a foreign dictatorship or its associates. To say nothing of the fact that in a previous post by someone else admittedly some time ago, they literally said that their post would "trigger" me. I saw no mod input there.
