I can't speak about Germany's fine details, but the US has access to multiple sources of articles in widely recognized journals that adopting literally any other healthcare plan but what it has now will save money.

The other thing is that right wingers here generally are less sour on socialist concepts, the libertarian angle is in multi party democracies often represented by another party instead of part of the right wing. The idea of a small government is fucking retarded in this day and age, as all you're asking for to happen in this case is to let corporations, most likely foreign, run everything. At least governments, in theory, are supposed to care about the well-being of their citizens.

It also ignores all the benefits that governments already provide: public roads, utilities, funding for research including life-saving medicine that big pharma swoops in and takes all the fucking credit for, etc etc. None of these things are something a corporation will concern itself with until the absolute last fucking moment unless implementing them early can realistically improve their bottom-line in the present day.

socialism = "a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."

"community" is just another way to say the state. if for some reason it isnt, it needs to be taken away from the people that built the means of production through force and more likely than not, that force is exerted by the state or by a "community" that will soon crown itself the state
