I wonder, is complaining about affirmative action being unfair in itself a ban-worthy offense, or is this just a case of "saying the quiet parts out loud"? Not defending LLL since his post was grossly ignorant in any case, but I'm curious if the content itself or just the way he expressed it was the problem.

Just curious, can he make himself a war time president? How does that work?
To my knowledge, he can't Constitutionally extend his term that way. As I understand it, the 22nd Amendment would force a transition to a new Prez through chain of succession... which, currently, would mean President Pelosi.
However, I could well be wrong. It's not really something I've had much reason to look into before.

Competitiveness, anxiety, suspicion, fear, desire, frustration, prejudice, the fundamental limitations of the human mind to recognize, identify, and understand only a finite (and really rather small) pool of other people, our natural instincts to form hierarchies as social animals... none of that's going away without some serious transhumanism. Nor is such a thing likely good.

Hmmm, sort of? At the end of the day, there's always going to be people who will choose to be despicable for their own benefit or that of those they prioritize over others. Because these people tend to be successful in screwing others over, the action is usually beneficial to them. When you implement systems of punishing this, tgey inevitably become a new target for infiltration and corruption by the same sorts of people (see the Police for a topical example). It's basically that maxim about heries living long enough to become villains in those cases.
So no, just realizing you don't have to be despicable doesn't stop people from being so if there's incentive.
