Nah, that was just me exaggerating to drive the point across even though many people think democracy is inherently superior to a dictatorship/ancien regime style monarchies even though what determines if a government is good or bad is the capabilities/morality of the ruler and not how they ended up there in the first place.

I'm pretty sure the election of Margaret Thatcher and the inception of the Iranian Revolution act as living proof that sometimes people would rather forego the power of suffrage if it means the people in charge know what they do (though in Iran's case, they are only marginally less retarded than the aforementioned British Head of Government).

Texas response obliquely suggested they were open to secession over it XD

From what I can find the bundle of arrows symbol generally was first associated with the Spanish kings, but the red on black version oriented vertically is pretty much exclusively Francoist. So yeah, definitely a red flag there.

How do you highlight how horrible a government is compared to every politician that came before when the only one (obviously) hit lower depths was the dictator that preceded all other heads of state?

I could make a case for far worse Monarchs (Juana la Loca) but she's from the medieval era, so I thought that would be way too far.

I do want some cool symbolism for the thing I'm baking though, and while I obviously won't feature Nazi symbols, stuff like the Falange symbol does work. Rick Riordan himself used the fasces for the Roman Emperors in his last series. I'm sticking to a similar symbol with some historical context. The falange version just looked cooler than the Catholic Monarch variant (which is separate).

The only other version we have looks like this, which is not exactly good for a signature where you need something small and condensed.
