So... odd hypothetical, but not entirely irrelevant; Trump catches it. Pence could conceivably have it due to a shared work environment and coworkers. He's no spring chicken either. Anyone know what happens if the top of the Republican ticket dies before election day? AfaIk, it's too late pretty much everywhere to get new people on the ballot. Are they just SOL in that scenario?

You should be asking what happens if the Republican ticket dies on election day itself.
I believe the speaker of the house takes control if the pres and the veep both die
idk who'd go on the ticket, tho. McConnell, maybe?
Things will go hectic if both Trump and Biden go hand in hand to see God just before the elections.
Yeah, Pelosi becomes President. It's actually the ticket I'm confused about, since I think it's set at this point, meaning that should they die, they're still on the ballot and any Electors for them end up being free to vote for anyone they want. I don't think the Republicans can actually field replacement candidates anymore, but I'm unsure. Which is why I'm asking.
