The last of the PokéToons, "I've Turned Into A Gengar!?" has aired. As I said previously, English captions are now available for international fans.
I'm sad that this is the end as these shorts were so much better than the mainline anime series. Hopefully they continue to do stuff like this in the future.

The outcome was very game-realistic. I guess this goes to show how dumb Lysander was despite, or rather because of, being a genocidal tech bro.
What a waste of an episode, honestly. I wish they had focused on literally anyone but Lysandre.
I liked it mostly because Xerneas was badass and Lysander's actor really delivered his line promising eternal life to the Vaniville gang with just the right amount of spite. Also, gives me an excuse to try to convince people that wannabe Malthusians like Lysander and Thanos are incredibly stupid villains and that we need to stop treating the idea seriously.
That, and Lysander's motives mostly boil down to "F u poor people."

Malthusian has the right amount of both edge, academic legitimacy, and arguable reason, to make it uncomfortably realistic and an actual pull towards villains. It's wrong enough to be wrong, but it's right enough to not be ridiculous or passible at a first glance. It's a great tool for anybody looking to make memorable villains whilst still being relatively safe, or having not much experience. I for one welcome it as a narrative device.

It really is, and the audience reactions shown added some color to the whole thing. Still, I'd say The Wish is my favorite.
