I can generally sniff out which series are true anime and which series are western shows wearing the skin of anime myself (some wear that skin better or worse than others, but that skin is still ultimately a mask). It's like no matter how hard westerners try, they can't fully hide their scent... And not just because, unlike Japanese works, much fewer appeal to my... inclinations. Of course, there are also idiots, like one of my high school classmates who was legitimately shocked that Mortal Kombat wasn't Japanese, but that level of idiocy isn't even worth going further into.
Yeah, it looks really good and they got Hiroyuki Sawano for the music, now I'm even more excited for this.
