Not surprised, the final arc does have a strong start so slap some good animation, voice acting and music onto it and I’m sure it’ll come out great. The real question is how much can they polish the turd that was the later parts of the arc...

I don't recall Uryu speaking to his father directly in this arc. And certainly not in the beginning. Looks like they're adding stuff already.
I wonder how long they plan to go. Going by the previous trailers it looks like they wanna do the entire arc in one go but with 200+ chapters that would mean 50 episodes at once with little to no additions which seems like a tall order.

I love this. I love this! Tatsuya Kitani's song for the exhibition is so good, I listen to it all the time, so him doing the opening is great news. October 10, huh. Well, at least they finally gave a date.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War TV Anime Starts October 10

The fact they're giving it 48 episodes out of the gate is encouraging that they'll have enough time to actually finish the story. It may still Evangelion near the end, but Bleach has always had a lot of standing around talking about abilities, so could we really tell? Yes, yes we could.

That doesn't leave much room for additions though. With minimal additions, a regular 20-minute episode can adapt around 4 Bleach chapters (because Kubo's panels are bigger than the Sun), and the final arc is 207 chapters long. 48 episodes is even less than what that ratio would indicate. And yet they've still shown new scenes will be added so I wonder how that will work out.

I guess it depends on the fights. From what I remember most of the time a fight will take a single episode where it took x number of chapters originally. Often having the fight start halfway through one episode, so that they can leave the fight on a cliffhanger and then finish it at the start of the next, then rinse and repeat. At least until the story hits the climax, when you start having multiple twists in the fight.
