Lol, i didnt even make it to the end of the anime. I guess its to be expected, 12 ep adaptions of story heavy VNs tend to shit the bed and here its especially bad since they'd been planning for 24 eps but got the carpet pulled out beneath their feet like that.

Sci;Adv VN fans generally rank Chaos Child as the second best behind Steins Gate, but plenty of rogue contrarians such a myself rank Chaos Child as their favorite.

The anime or the VN? Cause the anime is a shitshow. It was planned for 2 cour like Steins Gate and Robotics Notes but an investor pulled out last minute and they had to force a 50 hour VN into 1 cour.

Holy shit, what. I never knew this. Fuck that investor, ruining the adaptation of a great VN. Not that 2 cours guarantee it'd be a good adaptation, but it'd be better than what we got

hmm... Chaos;Head was much more limited in scope. Essentially one route and most of it was MC festering in crazy.

Chaos;Child has like 6? off the top of my head?
iirc even common events were different based on route.

On one hand, it's super understandable that after years of doing a single genre you want to do something completely different to stretch your wings.

On the other hand not everyone can be Guillermo Del Toro pulling out a Pacific Rim out of nowhere. Honestly, pulling a Ken Akamatsu and starting Negima as a Love Hina, and slowly subverting it to a shounen battle is the ideal if you don't think you have the skill to pull a complete genre 180.
