On one hand, I would prefer more manga accuracy... But I know that also implies higher body count (like dead, not just unconscious).

That's interesting.What was your experience with Fullmetal Alchemist prior to composing music for Brotherhood? Did you read the manga or watch the original 2003 series?
I didn’t listen to any of the previous works to avoid having any sort of preconceived notions, nor did I end up really referencing them in my music. Instead, I carefully read the original work and created music that flowed through the story from scratch. It was a thrilling experience, especially towards the second half, as the original story was written at the same time as the animation, which was a new experience for me.

That's interesting, so they have more flexibility with the release schedule.What are some of the biggest differences between drawing for a physical magazine and for Shonen Jump+? Does the format influence the way you work?
LIN: The biggest difference is twofold: the freedom that comes with the pace of online release, and the freedom of page counts. Both these elements allow us to prioritize the creator and the creative work. Depending on the work, we choose to serialize it once a week, once every two weeks, or once a month. Also, we can tailor the breaks according to the creator's situation, so I feel that it's easy to create good conditions. As far as the format goes, our goal is to make it possible to read on both paper and smartphones, so I don't feel it's much different in that regard.
