I prefer the story of Xillia 1.

But in every other aspect I like Xillia 2 better.

Xillia was good from a gameplay standard, but the story in both games was weak. It actually felt like Tales of Symphonia watered down until it was mostly water and barely any Symphonia.

Zestiria was also very weak storywise.
I'm not expecting very much at all from Berseria.

I got Zestria on steam for 6 bucks, but it runs like hot trash on my Mafia 3 Ready PC. Japanese ports...

So I got tales of zestiria on a rediculious discount, and have two thoughts. One, every single game ever developed from now until eternity needs to have leilah in it, and number two, as this is the first tales game I have ever played I have a question

are all tales protagonists gay, or did zestiria try something new here, have it fail, and that's why I got it for almost 90% off

Yes, Lailah's a treasure.

And no, that's just the subtext. Tales of Hearts had a straight fulfilled romance, while Tales of Xillia had the more platonic romance. Its sequel was just the father-daughter bonding story in my eyes.

So I am just guessing here, but I feel like an assumption is warranted linking the fact that zestiria went canon gay route and the fact that I just got an otherwise triple A title in the same year it was released for 10 bucks including tax.

incidentally, FWIW it was quite enjoyable in my book and having finished it, i would have called it a bargain at twenty and my money's worth at thirty.

Zesty's OST is pretty solid. But yeah, play some other Tales games.

It has grace from me because it was my entry point to the Tales series. Otherwise, before excelling my understanding of character writing, I would have completely hated them because of the outcomes.

Im in Tobias's shoes, just started Zestiria.

Doing JP audio and sometimes it feels like it doesn't sync well with subtitle flow and the models? Kind of feels slow though that's probably my laptop being mediocre.

i like seeing the differences between the anime and game and I feel X did some stuff for the better.

combat feels really new and different to me. I've never played a Tales game before and wow, everything feels and looks complex. It's a little overwhelming.

and yes, Sorey and Mikleo are super gay for each other. I like Alisha and Sorey's friendship and if there's potential for more, I'm a happy man.
