    Warhammer 40,000 Thread

Welcome to the 40k thread. Who plays?

I'm a Tua player specifically I play Farsight Anclaves.

Now that it's summer I'm hopping I'll get to play more.

I also play grey knights. If I ever use an assassin I'm going to model one like Shiki. Weeb.

    Added a nice little poll.

They shall be My Hammer, the sword in My hand, the gauntlet about My fist, the bane of My foes and woes of the treacherous. When no others may stand beside them, they shall fight. Only the greatest shall enter their ranks, for unto them do I entrust stewardship over the Gates of Hell.

Warhammer 40k was always something I wanted to play in middle school, spending half of homeroom paging through my friend's catalog of units. Then one day I finally got my Dad to take me to the store and showed him some of the Space Marines I wanted. He looked at the price tag and laughed.

    That was it for 40k.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

The only Warhammer(s) related game I've played is Dawn of War, its expansions, and Dawn of War II.

    So... does that count or...?

I'm not really looking forward to Warhammer Total War, given Creative Assembly's recent money grabs releases.

Same. Though I also read a couple books from the Horus Heresy series.
I went for Chaos Space Marines because they know what they want and don't play hypocrites, and Eldars because pragmatism and race almost instinct yet that does everything to survive.

One of my best friend's Dad worked at Games Workshop Head Office, so he practically had unlimited models and books.

We got our high school to give us a room dedicated to it and we sat in the clubroom chatting and playing video games.

    Good times

That's a pretty good deal. Over here it's $10 for a single piece, and that's unpainted.

Back then, MtG was my game of choice. Nowadays I'd probably just watch my friends play or use some of their armies if I was going to get into 40k. I can't really get into anything unless I find a character or group I can identify with.

Warhammer Total War is actually from a different IP, Warhammer Fantasy.
Warhammer 40k is scifi and Warhammer Fantasy is just a straight up fantasy game

Never played either of the miniature game, but /tg/ was my first board on 4chan so i know more or less the lore of it.

    Necron is best faction

Still have only read novels and played the Dawn of Wars and Space Marine because I'm too broke to afford the models. My brother does have the full set of the TRPG, so I guess we could do something with that if we ever so wanted.
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.
