Hmm. I don't suppose there's a feat similar to Elemental Aptitude except for necrotic damage, is there?

If the GM constantly has to either not use demons or impose arbitrary restrictions on the ability it doesn't speak well of the design.
That reminds me of all the complaints about the Kuni Witch-Hunters in L5R.
That was just salty GMs who couldn't comprehend that not only do mahotsukai have a variety of ways to conceal themselves, they can also easily be or have under their control highly influential individuals, the kind you can't just behead out of hand and call it a day.
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.

Eh. I'll admit I've only read...whichever edition was current two years or so ago (3rd, I believe), but it still shouldn't take a genius at GM'ing to figure out that knowing someone is up to no good and being able to prove it/do something about it are two completely different things.

Once and always and nevermore.
Mac, another dumb question: If there's no other races around (Elves, Dwarves, et al) what kind of languages are available for us to choose? Does each kingdom speak its own dialect?
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
paraphrasing here but it was something like that theres dialects, unnamed, but its known that each region has its own common variants so you get stuff like "western"
exotic wise its pretty much just infernal celestial and draconic
and of course there's the best language, cool kids club members only, druidic
Necromancers also get Draconic.
Of course, but then you've changed the focus of the game from a mystery to a more straightforward "how do I solve the problem?". It's like teleportation spells: sure, they're very convenient for players, but getting there is half of the fun!

Oh, and the current edition 2 years ago was 4th Edition. I kind of lost interest in that edition, so I really don't know how the Witch-Hunter School worked around then (if it had even been readapted for the edition. The designers had some strange ideas for that edition).
I’m getting Temple of Elemental Evil vibes…

Oh that’s whose this is! It showed up in my garage five days ago with no explanation… This is clearly the work of a Presence Concealed Zurvan. Indeed. I most certainly didn’t filch it for the purpose of jabbing Zurvan when no one was looking, like a cowardly peasant.

what does it mean that exotic languages count as 2 languages?
I haz a patreon please support onegai:

Currently (like, actually) finishing Apocrypha 3
Instead of granting a specific language, some backgrounds/races/etc. give you basically an empty language slot for you to fill with whatever language you want, and exotic languages take up two of those slots instead of one.
Yeah. Exotic languages are rarer than common ones, so it counts as taking two languages to take it. You need two "slots" to use on it.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
You get two language slots from backgrounds like Sage and Acolyte iirc
I get where you're coming from, but the situation is very similar to "how can I run a mystery campaign in D&D when Speak With Dead and Locate Person exist". You don't run a cut and dry Agatha Christie novel, you need to adapt it to the reality of the world you play in, where magic and anti-magic are a fact of life. There was a very interesting line of articles on the subject I read some time ago, let me see if I can find them.

EDIT: Upon review, this isn't the article I remembered as specifically calling out stuff like Detect Thoughts, Speak With Dead, etc., but it's a great read nevertheless so I leave it here.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "Theme" on the character sheet overview?
