Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
mac what's your stance on partial wildshape, y/n

don't quote me on this
Lmao
That sounds like using Alter Self for things not listed in the spell description (making your hands stick to walls etc) - we had a Wizard do that before.
I don't mind creative, non-RAW use of abilities but I think magic is already the most versatile part of the game and doesn't really need to be made more flexible.
Basically, you just want the right to bear arms, is that it?
*aham* Anyway, that seems like one of those variant class features from Unearthed Arcana. Has there been anything like that in 5E already?
Isn't there a Druid spell that grants natural weapons?
Shillelagh? No, that just lets you use your spellcasting modifier (Wisdom for Druids) for attacks with one quarterstaff or club you're wielding. That also makes the weapon magical for the duration.
Dunno about anything else, other than Polymorph/Wild Shape, at least if we're talking 5th edition.

Once and always and nevermore.
Yeah, who knew Druids would be so good at clubbing?
I found the spell, it's Primal Savagery, but it doesn't grant you natural weapons, it deals acid (!) damage.
It dealt Slashing damage in the UA but they changed it because no cantrip did non-elemental damage and that small element would be obscenely broken.
Acid damage? That's soooo dumb
Why though? If it's just a spell that deals slashing damage, power attack and the rest wouldn't work on it, so why would it be broken?
On the contrary, tons more things resist slashing damage than they do acid.

It wouldn't be. It's just ground that cantrips hadn't covered before so they changed it to something less sensible.
