Nor me, in truth.
But I'll do this much. This is no natural body of mine anyway. An existence as ... a mind. A seat of learning, of knowledge, of thought.
Yes.
This I can do."
Kallor: "I.
I don't know."
'Kallor' looked on the remaining mass of goop.
"I've spent the last seven hundred years convinced to have been the King of Caelmarath. And yet it seems I've just killed him."

I should probably put it on record that I didn't think Banishment would work, but when I considered punching the devil normally, d20+8 (or +3 if sharpshooter) vs AC18 wasn't looking very good.
If I tried one normal shot with eldritch smite + one shot with sharpshooter, the expected damage would be 32 (1d8+5+5d8) + 19.5 (1d8+15), so even if I did my very best to hurt the devil, I could only hope to do something like 50 damage in one turn. Which is basically garbage compared to Pai's very heroic Gaem dishing out huge numbers. Or 60, if I did the stupid thing and used sharpshooter for both shots, though it probably won't hit then.
Using a Lv4 slot for a small chance to get rid of the devil permanently seemed like a better bet than using a Lv4 slot to do pitiful damage.

Oh absolutely, and I applaud you for giving it a shot. If you'd already gotten into a situation where you had to fight it's definitely the best option.
In my case, we were trying to avoid a combat, and trying to banish the demon would have definitely made up fight it if it failed. With how scared my group was, I decided not to try it. I'm really glad someone pulled it off though.
It really shouldn't have failed, with how high its bonus was. But, well...

....aaaaand I'm glad my group didn't have to resort to that again.
Good job canaki!!
Ahhh, I'm still not over how I failed to Persuade the demon by a measly 1 point (twice!) despite it being one of my Expertises!
It was destiny at that point.
