Unfortunately, I spent at least $800 in Himegari Imperial Meister gacha for all possible versions of Lily-chan in...different costumes with no regrets. Yeah but Karl was also the one who found it, and his paladins were implied to be not the same ones who were with Charles, so maybe Karl's paladins are the original (prototype) and the Charlemagne ones are based on them, hence not exactly fictional, like Carmilla and Liz I guess.

Well the catalyst is about an event that's really specific to the Chansons, that is it's the vessel that Roland's wits were in so I dont think so.

That doesn't mean some events similar to that nature did not happen for Karl tho. Like, both Karl and Charles did encountered Velber eye and Altera. So I think most of the events more or less might have happened but details and the ppl involved are told in a different manners in later stories, thus creating a different telling of them. I mean, if Charles's story is equivalent to a pruned timeline, there shouldn't be traces of it (the catalyst) in pan-human history, that's why I think Karl must also went through at least some events very similar to Charles.
Also this goes back to how Holmes debate this matter of fiction in his trial quest, we don't know the full details yet lol, just guessing right now.
