Hmm...When it was first mentioned that Watson "de-magicked" the stories for ACD to publish I didn't have much of an opinion. But after seeing this conversation, I feel kinda against it to be honest. Like, the whole plot of Baskervilles is that the "ancient demon" is nothing more than a chicanery trick by a malicious human who preys on the minds of the vulnerable. Reason triumphs against superstitions, mankind is not bound to things like "destiny" and all that stuff. But making it all real magic and whatnot not only doesn't really add anything to the pre-existing narrative, but completely undercuts the nature of the story methinks.Originally Posted by Holmes' Interlude

Not that the actual Doyle would have minded it that much, given how he embraced spiritualism.
god, if ORT gets dumpstered by humanity bullshit I will be pissed. It would be nice for aliens to actually accomplish something for once (no, """alien""" god does not count) instead of being designated losers just like Beasts.
dream scenario: daybit + grand + beast vitch + clown olga all try to take on ORT, it fucks them up and goes back to sleep
this is a powerlevel question but it is due to the having seen different TLs
is Lostbelt Zeus' maximum output supposed to be solar system or galaxy? i have seen both being used in different translations
Yeah, Cagliostro lived between 1743-1795
And the Case Files mats list 1800 as when Modern Magecraft becomes the 12th deparment of the Clock Tower do to its theory being impossible to ignore anymore
So the timeline lines up with that quote and means Cagliostro was at least indirectly responsible for the creation of the deparment Waver became the Lord of, by possibly spreading modern magecraft and creating a wave of ocultism similar as Helena's

In Character Mats Nasu jokingly describes ORT with "even Arcueid can't beat it quick someone call Ultraman". ORT is mentioned at the very end of Olympus and then Nasu tells us U-Olga means Ultra-Olga. I'm expecting LB7 to be partially about how Daybit found a way to use ORT to fight the Alien God whether or not that fails.
I can't tell if the Ultraman connection is more or less of a meme theory than the "Holmes is Arcueid" one.
ORT's design was inspired by Kaiju so.
