EDIT: Also, it seems the confusion Petri posted about is the result of the localized terms causing a change from a noun to a verb but the editors didn't properly rewrite some sentences to have it make equal sense with the original line, unfortunately it seems like it's too late to change it.

Karl does seem unlikely at this point, especially because of Charlie's third ascension.

Charles' profile still makes a reference to Karl as "the other guy" and Charles' from Link so he and Karl supposedly should be summonable by Chaldea as different servants. Besides, we already got young and old Li Shuwen and Moriarty (If I'm not forgetting someone else) plus the tease for olders Beowulf and Rama that has been going on for years, so I say Karl still has any chance as anyone (maybe his 3rd ascention will incorporate some of Charlie's aspects)
In general really, it's being an influence in many stories since it's release.
