Oh I definitely don't think it was a last minute decision, it just feels really weird when they go "So guys she WANTS to be shown looking like a character in the middle of a mindbreak hentai! She could be a proper warrior queen but it's about her pride you see!!!"

And if her nudity was presented closer to Penth and Nitocris where it feels less fanservicey and more just a part of her I'd be less bothered, but everything from how she never gets proper clothes, the underwear that's riding into her crotch and ass and the loving display of the goods in her FA just leave me very "hmmm....". I've had some problems with this artist's style in the seraph manga but CCC is horny on principle so I found it more forgiveable (his anatomy is still wack and the character model consistency is non existent)

Yeah I'm absolutely not saying that her design is good because of that. I just think the justification is better than being naked for no reason, or even worse, when it goes against who the character is.

She's more Melt/Lip than Altera/Boudica/Ushi, that's all.

Took a quick look at the art, and honestly, despite the fan service and the reasoning behind it, I find a certain dignity and poise in her art.

I'm certainly not opposed to being proven wrong, but my first impression (of both her and foreigner Molay) is already pretty negative and it'll be difficult for me to shake that off unless she's pretty amazing. It's Halloween so I don't really have that much expectations, I guess as long as they don't do anything tasteless as Boudicca's interlude I'll end up feeling neutral

To each their own, I found it so transparently fanservicey as to be ridiculous. "Yeah bro she's totally rocking this outfit, which she hates and which symbolizes the worst things that ever happened to her, of her own accord".

It's wanting to have your cake and eat it. "Here, devour this eye candy while we provide a contrived explanation on why it's akshually deep meaningful for her character." At least be honest about it, guys.

Also, not that this is going to matter when the inevitable Flanderization sinks in and future events just make a gag out of it anyway.

The fact that Constantine isn't in the game is one of those "huh, they've missed out on some major figures, huh" kind of vibe. If Aurelian came out before him, that'd be quite comical.

I honestly can't tell if the character is being respected or not at this point. I'm saving my judgment on this one for after the story is finished.

Molay, on the other hand, already won me over day 1.

Ok, now we got the first real feel on Zenobia's character and so far she's there only as a stoic tsukkomi new to Eliza's antics. I feel like it a while before she gets any meaningful content and this wait isn't doing her any favors.

Like, Molay's shtick is being demonized by Innocent Monster just like Eliza was. She's the blatant Eliza foil, the same way Cleopatra was before in their shared beauty obsession as framing vehicle to their unhealthy need to obey public expectation, and Hime was in their idol vs fangirl/claustrophobe vs ochlophobe/extrovert vs introvert dynamic. You know what to expect with her, so her minor scenes never felt a wait for a more proper character introduction.

Zenobia, on the other hand, has no thematic threads in common with Eliza. What she has is her is the total loss of her reputation, a history she shares with Molay but their Servant versions deal with in opposite ways. Meaning Zenobia is most likely going to spend this whole wacky journey to Csejte Cinderella being a nothing character, and only when she gets to a direct confrontation against Molay in the end that we'll get a real feel of what the story is trying to say through her character and how respectfully they convey it.
