Originally the twins were gods. The version where they were demigods was created later and everyone believing that lowered their Divinity. More importantly, the most famous version of their story is the version that Pollux got Zeus' immortal genes while Castor got Tyndareus' human genes, so Castor got completely downgraded from god to human and became so offended by that his Class is Avenger.

In the Lostbelt, all this stuff never happened. One day Kirschtaria showed up and killed them in battle. Now that they're dead, they're available for Servant summoning, so Kish summoned them and the summon process caused them to learn how humanity mistreated Castor in the Pan-Human timeline, which turned them into the hardcore sadistic misanthropes we see in the story.


As per DW's usual commercial whitewashing, the summonable Dioscuri are not violent torturers. Summonable Castor is still an Avenger, but summonable Pollux is suddenly a nice girl for unexplained reasons when will tell Castor to chill when he needs to.
