Merlin used his magic to show the future when Cerny awakened. He then told us to visit him in Avalon to find a solution. Artoria's original mission was to ring the bells then return to Avalon to create Excalibur. MC, Mashu, Artoria and Muramasa were chosen by Merlin to go in. We go in there via the Spirit Tomb Albion (lostbelt ver). In panhuman history, Albion only managed to dig 80 kms down the earth, but in LB it managed to dig all the way to Avalon. Normally you would reach fairy territory upon getting close to Avalon where human cannot enter, but since the LB is technically already a fairy territory it's fine. But we still needed to walk 2700km or so down there and Merlin just time jumped everyone to the place. He then appears in the form of Fou to infodump about Cerny and LB divergence stuffs, then led everyone to the garden. Turns out to make Excalibur, Artoria would need to put her life into it, so she will vanish afterwards. We go into the inner sea forge where Excalibur is supposed to be made, Artoria jumped in there but then Muramasa followed, he sacrificed his saint graph to save hers. Now we get a holy sword essence to turn it into w/e weapon Da Vinci can think of, to fight off Cerny. Merlin then sent everyone back, saying they actually still have 1 hour b4 Cerny awakens, do w/e we can to stop the calamities before Cerny cuz we cant fight Beast Calamity - Barghest and Flame Calamity - Albion AND Cerny all at once.
Cerny. He was an extremely strong god, as he was sent by Avalon (iirc) to punish the 6 fairies who slacking in making Excalibur. So even after he died and his soul is long gone, his corpse never decayed, it became zombified and stacked up on more and more curse for thousands of years. Letting him loose means destruction of the whole planet. The magic energy he had upon awakening resembles the pseudo black hole that alien god shows in Olympus. And that is just a soulless corpse of his.

So the Six Fairies were the ones who created Excalibur in PHH? Does that mean PHH fairies and LB fairies are quite different as a result of that divergence, or are they mostly the same, but the former were forced to live like humans even when they weren't suited for it?
So is he PHH Merlin? There have been implications before that Avalon is outside the timeline, so I'm not sure if he'd be affected by Lostbelts or not. It's been kind of unclear, I think.
Avalon is unaffected by everything, from LB to timelines being pruned and the likes. Merlin is indeed from PHH, and MC thanked him for helping back in Babylonia.

LB fairies in "Britain" are very different, but still technically hail from those 6 Avalon fairies, so they still share some similarities of those from PHH, but their history and world is completely different. It goes like this:
PHH: those fairies forged excalibur, gave it to a human to blast Sefar in, history advanced as how we knew it.
LB6: those fairies did not make Excalibur, Sefar destroyed the whole world, leaving nothing but the sea of void, the planet is literally a blank state. These 6 fairies then killed Cerny, made his corpse into their new home, killed the human girl with him and used her frame as reference to create humans in the LB. The LB is literally entirely something else starting from Sefar's victory, even if it borrowed certain things from PHH.
I wonder if that priestess is the one who wielded Excalibur originally.
So just to be clear here: Morgan, and later Artoria's, job assigned to them by Gaia was to forge Excalibur and use it to kill Cernunnos, thus destroying Fairy Britain because it isn't supposed to exist?

And Vortigern was summoned to destroy it too?
No. Originally Cerny was the one who were supposed to punish the fairies. But he was too kind, he didn't do his job, then he got killed by them. Then by using his corpse, they created a whole new fairy world, which caused the planet to act once more. Vivian and Artoria was dispatched to destroy this Britain and craft Excalibur to fix the premise of its history's divergence - "a world where the holy sword did not exist". Cerny was not part of the equation, because he was long dead. I haven't reached Vortigern part yet so idk what he's doing, but maybe he has something to do with Cerny's reanimated corpse. We simply use the holy sword created by Artoria to stop zombie Cerny from wiping out both the LB and panhuman history.
So wait, what was Castoria's third ascension line about Merlin about?
So sorry, I’m a bit lost here. Did Muramasa and Castoria both die to make Excalibur? Or was it just one of them? Or did something else happen?
So, anyone else thinking that Holmes' plot twist may be he was a Pretender class servant all along?
