Was the Tsukihime Anime "That" Bad?

I'm about to finish Tsukihime (finally), and after I'm done, I plan to do what I did after finishing Fate/stay Night - watch the anime.

I began with DEEN's adaptation first. Despite what I kept hearing about their version being terrible, I really liked it. Yeah, the mixing of routes was weird, but give DEEN a break. Type-Moon wasn't as "big" back then. They had no idea that all three routes would get to be adapted individually. That never happens, even for super popular VNs. Of course they're going to jam as much stuff in there as they possibly can. I never got why people called this adaptation "garbage" because of that.

Similarity, I never got why people will literally act like they caught amnesia when the Tsukihime anime was brought up.

So, what the dealio? Is it really that bad, or are people just being people again?

You mean Kara no Kyoukai? If so then yeah, that is pretty good. That's the best TM animated work, even. Good for introducing people to the series too. Tsukihime itself is probably only going to get an anime after Remake though.

I didn't even get past the first episode, I closed it and never touched it again when I saw Arcueid running from Shiki.

The music is pretty good and the story works. The animation is really bad though.

It diverts A LOT from the original in story, tone and characterization. It skips all of the humorous and many of the badass moments, and many of the characters are simply different people, particularly Shiki and Arc, but also Aoko, Satsuki, etc.

In other words, it works so badly as an adaptation, one could even argue it's not really an adaptation.

Hence, there's no Tsukihime anime.

And then it became a meme.

It's rather incredible. Consider who they were I wonder whether the director ordered them to recite their lines as dull as possible.

Shingettan cast is not Melty Blood cast,Ruby and Sapphire are voiced by Melty Blood VA`s... or used to be in Sapphire`s case.
