Eh, to be fair, it seemed less stupid about 5-6 years ago, and it's not like those are the only jokes any abridged series has.
They're just the jokes that each abridged series has used at least 15-20 times
Yeah, I'm not sure why that was decided to be the best way to make an anime satire. Once each episode becomes more in jokes and memes than jokes about the actual show, perhaps take step back and reconsider what you are doing.

It got pretty bad there for a while, but has pulled itself out of it recently. The DBZ and SAO ones tend to pretty clean of memes and fads.
