Do we know if Last Encore is going to be a straight up Extra adaptation, though?
I thought there was a still a chance it could go off the beaten path and do something unexpected. If nothing else, they could work in a one-off Vlad and Clown cameo the way the manga did.
I don't expect it to happen at all, but I would love to see the reactions to Berserker Arc -- both in the golden oldies begging for a new Tsukihime anime and the newbies wondering why she's such a big deal.

He'll probably change/add some stuff like what he did with UBW. Hopefully, more world-building for the non-Mooncell parts of Extra.

An straight adaptation of Extra, even with SHAFT style, would be boring. The plot's a simple tournament arc with amnesiac MC and identity issues. Nothing very interesting, honestly
Also, I hope Li gets to be cool in the anime. I love cool and badass martial artists a lot (which is why I love G Gundam so much)

In Last Encore we're jumping to CCC midway. Then after the final episode (2 cours btw) they will announce Extella anime and Extella sequel for PS4.

I mean the only thing suggesting is the church in the Second PV, but that is literally fading away
With a new PV, time for new theories. Some posts ago I made some fanfic-y and hope-filled speculations already, so now I want to try a more serious analysis of the 2nd an 3rd PV to see what we can get.
Let's start with PV2. Points of interest:
*Nero "falling down" the Lunar Sea
*Hakunon in what looks like the area where the final battle with Twice happens
*Hakunon being in process of deletion while about to get Transmigration into One-ed (Buddha's NP)
*A skeleton taking shape from the black corrosion (into what I'm pretty sure is a girl's silhouette)
*Male Hakuno's eyes appear after the teaser ends
PV3 points of interest:
*A Nero transluscent image disappearing and leaving her sword behind while inside her theatre
*Scenes that take us to think abot death and despair
*"Oblitus Rosae Theatrum" - Forgotten Theatre of Roses (should be Oblitum, actually, because its about a thing, not a person)
*The Church of Tsukumihara Academy getting deleted
*A golden symbol that I don't think was present in the original game, unless I forgot
*Male Hakuno reaching for Nero's sword while saying "So that I can fight"
*Our protagonists looking at the sky filled with golden symbols and an Arena/SE.RA.PH in ruins.
Now, let the theories begin! With Hakunon in the stage of the final battle I can feel safe that this won't be an Extella/Zero adaptation. Having Nero "fall down" through the sea while Hakunon is on the top of it (the seven seas are the Arena, which needs to be cleared to reach the "surface", the Moon Cell's core, as someone already stated in this thread) makes me think that the story will begin with Hakunon about to lose and using something (Command Spells? Running to the core and making a wish?) to send Nero back to the beginning of the war. Now, I can see two things happening: 1) A reset, the HGW begins again, only with a male Kishinami Hakuno creating free will (as the female one had her data corroded while fighting Saver) and ending up summoning once more Nero; 2) Nero goes back to the school, but without a reset.
The second one, while seemingly less probable, has a lot backing it up. First we have the church being deleted, which never happens in the game, but it is known by NPC dialogue that the school gets a shutdown after a war ends and is recreated when a new war begins. If that's the case the scene of the church deletion can be explained by having Nero only go back to the school while the war has already ended and its about to suffer deletion. That image at the end of PV3 with Hakuno and Nero looking at a ruined arena also makes more sense in this context, as it has already seen the many battles from the war and is falling down because of its end.
What is against the second theory and favors the first is that the second case would make difficult for other Servants appear and that male Hakuno is bleeding, not being corroded, which takes us to the scene in Extra where the summoning happens after he is hit by one of the "dolls".
Independent of what path the anime takes, the things that can be deduced are:
*Hakunon will fall agains Twice and Saver but will send Nero back, where she will find Male Hakuno;
*It will be a story about Nero's despair, her last chance, her "Last Encore", after she failed with her fist master (Hakunon) and now has a chance to redo it;
*If the female silhoutte is to be believed, Hakunon will come back somehow, be it with Tamamo, Archer or replacing Twice as the last Boss with Saver, creating a conflict in Nero's heart.
If the first option is to be believed then:
*The HGW will be rebooted, with a different Hakuno Kishinami NPC creating sentience (MHakuno) because FHakuno was "permanently" deleted, but with the same soul, leading to Nero serving him. (If I recall correctly, I've read somewhere that the original reason for having two Hakunos was that as the original on Earth suffered from "amnesia syndrome" he/she didn't have memories and without memories the Moon Cell couldn't fixate a "true" identity for the NPC based on him/her, thus creating more than one with the same soul pattern).
If the second option is to be believed:
*Nero is sent back to the school in the present;
*Male Hakuno is an NPC that doesn't want to be deleted together with the school and ends up creating sentience;
*As this NPC also is "Kishinami Hakuno" he makes a contract with Saber
*The two venture into the almost-destroyed arena, Nero so that she can now serve her master without failing and MHakuno to flee from death, aiming for the only exit, the core.
I know that this may again sound fanfic-y, but I tried my best to make an analysis of the little we've got and I sincerely think that these scenarios described here are likely to happen. Also, I would really like to see the theories other people can come up with, so please, share your ideas

Adapting Gudako out in favor of Gudao or adapting Hakunon out in favor of Hakuno are not, on their separate own, bad ideas-- the characters themselves are so generic even their gender doesn't matter much. Of course, the actual solution for that would be actually giving them much better defined personalities regardless of gender, the kind of personalities Stay Night, Zero, Prototype, Apocrypha and Strange Fake have for their leads, but that would demand for such intensive rewriting I don't think we can blame A1 or SHAFT for not trying it. They're going for adaptations rather than complete redos, I assume, and even if they handled the rewrites well, large portions of the fanbase would still try and eat them alive over it.
Besides, all things considered, the Fate franchise still has a solid record of interesting enough human Masters. Stay Night, Zero, Prototype, Apocrypha and Strange Fake outnumber the ciphers from Grand Order and EXTRA, and even then EXTRA has several interesting Masters among the secondary characters. Type-Moon only relaxes the standards into bland self insert slots when they're doing a game rather than a novel (prose or visual) which still places them far above all those publishers of light novels and original manga and anime churning out indistinct stock protagonists.
Even so, when BOTH Grand Order and Extra's adaptations screw over the female option over the male, a somewhat unpleasant pattern starts becoming evident. It's lessened by the fact both series come from different studios and teams, but even so, them, along the fact Prototype, the most female protagonism oruented branch short of Prisma Illya, hasn't ever gotten a full anime, still seems to paint a general 'we can't sell a female lead Fate show with a female protagonist to a mainly male fanbase, why to even try' attitude. Which is kinda bull, since if you WANT TO, you can sell a successful female-led adventure franchise to a male audience-- Japan itself already has been doing it with things like Slayers for decades now. As it is, Prisma Illya is the most constant female dominated branch of the franchise for now, which is somewhat troubling when we consider how closely tied it is in the public eye to the blatantly Lolicon audience.
Gudako is the protagonist of Riyo's manga, so she's the real winner.

I don't agree with the argument that Apo has an interesting or non-generic protagonist; Hakuno was much better based on Extra and CCC, at least, in my opinion.
