Just finished watching the first KnK movie, it was alright. There was nothing really good or bad about it. It did come off as a bit pretentious though. Freaking loved the song in the ending credits.

Spoiler:
It's not Nasu if it's not pretentious.

His talk with Shiki about suicide was the best deep conversation in that film.
I've finally finished watching all of the films plus the epilogue but minus Mirai Fukuin. I enjoyed all the films to an extent. I can see why people like them but they're not really my cup of tea. The best out of all seven has to be movie five though.
Spoiler:
Finished Mirai Fukuin, Adult Mitsuru was a treat and the ending scene with SHIKI humming Singing in the Rain on his way home almost made me cry. As for the rest of the movie, meh, I enjoyed Extra Chorus more.
Spoiler:
Reading Tsukihime right now. Finished Ciel's route and I really like her. She's a heartwarming character and her expressions are goofy.
ciel is miles better than any of the other choices
Rereading Zero and Hollow Artaxia. Just beginning Case Files
"Only in my company, will you not be a monster"
anywhere than here
"Here's a bangin lil' tune about takin' on The Man!"

I finished the first volume of Fate/Apocrypha and I loved it. I'm going to start reading the second volume tomorrow.
Spoiler:
I should get around to finish that, huh
Alright.... So I finally finished both the Akiha and Hisui routes(both endings). I liked them. Ciel is still my favorite, and I always smile when she appears, but I like Akiha and Hisui too. Though I did have a bit of trouble getting through some scenes as I wasn't as invested in them.
I'm very excited for the Kohaku route. Her character is interesting and enjoyable. Shiki Tohno is also an intriguing protagonist. A lot of my enjoyment from Tsukihime comes from the mindfuck, it really grabs me.
Thanks! I hope I enjoy it as well. I've heard lots of praise for it.
After taking a long break, first for Extella, then for Babylon and then for general disinterest went back to Apocrypha and finished vol 4-5.
Now only the dictionary of the Apo materials remains (and the Jack short story I guess, would you say is it worth it?)
I think I have mentioned before (like, every single time) that the prose itself wasn't terribly interesting for me. Well, I'll say it again. When I look back and enumerate everything that happens these novels should be overflowing with awesome, but it seems to me that the text itself spends too much time plainly describing everything so it loses impact. It seems like it's trying too hard to be amusing in a visual sense, which doesn't work so well on paper. otoh it could work well on animation, so I'm cautiously optimistic to the adaptation.
And some more random comments

Finished Proto vol.5
It was... a thing, I guess
I like the writing but I don't think I was ever particularly engrossed (only with the Serenity chapter of the last volume maybe)
To be fair the story was pretty constrained in the first place; we already knew that Manaka had curbstomped her war and stuff
(To be even fairer the novels didn't really need to repeat every other page how great she was)
In that sense I think Sakurai did a good job taking what we already knew and expanding/explaining it
People's main complain is indeed Manaka's narrative, I think. Can't really do much if your character is as 1D as her.
