I thought that was more for adding flavor to said sauce, no? Though I myself don't like wasabi so I can't say for sure.

That's how my family eats it. In fact, I don't anyone that uses raw wasabi for sauce.

Edit: Shirou can keep his wasabi mayonnaise though...Wasabi is just nasty imo...Very spicy, and very bitter, and nothing else...how the heck is that good for eating? Yuck!

My 2 cents of thought about Ep2:
1. The father refuse to be out-done by her son and so she play moe as well.

Regarding to wasabi, it all depends on the portion. A little bit of wasabi into the sour mayonnaise can enhance and give a complex favor and a little bit bitter and spice aftertaste.

And I am a wasabi person, I just enjoy that "a knock in the back of you head" feeling. I got the nickname "wasabi" after I dine out with friends.

Kay the father in law will be judging Shirou from head to toe, especially about how his sister is being treated
Mo san would beat the shit out of shirou as he makes her dad a cuckold (his affairs with Rin and probably sakura), and fight with Seiba just because she touched her dad's food
Gawain would be just as YES MAN and fanboy as always, and takes lots of attention to "one part" of sakura and Rider
Argie, just silently playing his melody
Belvedere would keep "correcting" Shirou about how his king should be served.
Merlin would gave Shirou a key to Avalon, as long as the boy tells him where's the brothels
Lancelot probably doesn't dare to show up
Galahad would be just as mean and serious as always, "King Arthur love handsome young man, it sounds so gay....." he thinks.


And everyone except Gawain would wounder if they had food like those, what's Camelot may have been.....
