Wow, this chapter showed Bradamante and Charlemagne in Astolfo's past. I know he went on adventures, but what did he go up against? And then there's Siegfried and the battle between him and Fafnir. I like how all the coins were just flying during the fight.

Did he say he couldn't remember the fight or that he couldn't remember how he killed Fafnir? Because we still don't see the killing.
My friends, that's the toil of Sieg. Fafnir is trying to wrest control over his body. That Siegfried is really Sieg's consciousness. If Sieg dies in that confrontation, he'll die for good. That happens every time he sleeps, up to a certain point in time.

Siegfried remembers a part of the battle, what he lacks is the rest of it. His description in FGO of an unsightly desperate battle is in line to Sieg’s dream fights. The problem is Sieg tends to fail in them while Siegfried has no idea what he did to win.
mmmh, I thought that Charlemagne was fictional. Unless I missing something? Is the Servant thing were Astolfo that is a uncertain existence remember things of the legend because of the legend itself without the need to those being confirmed real? or is that Karl actually looked like Charlegmagne when young? kinda as Fionn looked like a buff dude when older?
Karl looked like Charl when he was young, there's a flashback in Link of him and Astolfo finding Velber ruins where he uses Charl's design.
But it's a moot point because this flashback shows Astolfo riding the hippogriff, turned into a tree, fighting harpies, etc. so it's a flashback to the Matter of France and not historical.
