Oh, God... Please don't let the mangaka mess around with the story. This isn't a visual novel with multiple routes where you have to pick and choose what you want to include when you're adapting it to a new medium. It's a light novel with one tight, linear, straightforward story for you to adapt.
WHY WOULD YOU BOTHER CHANGING ANYTHING?

Oh, I thought it was some reference to how the Third War went down in Apocrypha but it turns out the translators just can't read 極東.
What about the people too lazy to read the novel, and think the manga is proper substitute? Should they be subjected to lower quality just because they can't read japanese?

It said "Far East" (kyokutō, 極東) but the translator misread it as Kyōto (京都).

Which is like, a really hard mistake to make if your eyes are open, so it could mean this "translator" is doing some serious dictionary humping for even easy words. good luck

Allow me point on two details:
1)Mangaka is Akira Ishida
2)Source material is Fate Apocrypha
At this point it's all but certain manga adaptation will be better in every aspect.
It's already worse on the art front, albeit better than I expected.
