“I’m no saint. The Lord merely blesses me with an opportunity to protect people.

If that means I must hurt and sin, that’s fine.”

    Backgrounds:

Japan - a place many in the moonlit world consider as lacking in importance. There are various reasons why it is considered so; because it was once a closed country, because it is far away from the Association, because there is no reason for Relic of Christ to be found in the East. Regardless of the reason, this little island on the Far East becomes very vulnerable and infested with all manner of monsters: from vampires, oni-kind, half-bloods, and even simply evil men.

Lisette’s ancestors were the union between a French priest sent to Japan in the 1800s and a hidden Christian woman. At that time, not only they are persecuted, but their illegal status makes them the perfect prey for vampires or onis alike. These bloodsuckers will mix themselves alongside the persecutors, and no one will care if a Christian is missing. In turn, many of these Christians decided to learn combat techniques simply so they can defend themselves. Even after long being accepted by society, that supernatural battleground still persists, and they can’t wait for the late reinforcement from the Church.

Lisette has been aware of these facts, and she is willing to turn to the Eighth Sacrament if she needs to. But she simply lacked the means for it, lacking any combat training and magecraft to fight these monsters in a common ground.

“I simply don’t want to see people that I know getting hurt. And being associated with me means they are prone to dangers.”

Until she learns that the Church is looking for a better way to create new operatives, mainly: superhuman projects.

One of the reasons why they begin to research this questionable but cliche experiment is efficiency. While the Executors that are trained in various martial arts or being modified into half-machines are able to compete with vampires and monsters, those are proven to be inconvenient and time-consuming, especially with such a high death rate. There is the need for a quicker alternative to combat them.

When she heard that a scientist of the Church was looking for a sacrificial lamb for his experiment, she was the first to volunteer, and the only successful one so far.

    Abilities
    Living Relic - Christophine
By studying the property of Saint Christopher’s skull, the Church was able to grant Lisette a strength comparable to the legendary martyr. Although theoretically, they should be able to create more superhumans, Lisette is the only successful subject. This is all thanks to her character, her Origin - Self Sacrifice, which matches with the necessary quality for Saint Christopher to attain God’s miracle. This earns her the nickname as a ‘living relic’, being the only successful experiment to emulate a Saint.

Just like Saint Christopher, Lisette has the physical capabilities and vitalities exceeding normal human beings, allowing her to fight toe to toe with physically enchanted magi and vampires. She is able to sprint for hours without break, leap several stories tall, and dish out or take fatal punishments.

However, Lisette’s true potential lies not in her physical capabilities, but in her ability to endure. Similar to how Saint Christopher is able to carry the weight of Christ, the strength she gained and her own resolve allows her to equip physically restraining equipment that even many experienced Executors and Knights will not be able to master.

She made contact with Mr. Dawn, a member of the Burial Agency that is famed for his engineering skill. He cheerfully agreed to make various experimental weapons for her personal use, claiming it has been a long time since he is able to do his true calling as a man of science.

“I was intimidated at first from his appearance, but I was surprised that he is a very easygoing in-person.”

    Black Key Type-Katana
Described as a ‘useless piece of junk’ by Mr. Dawn, it is a Black Key shaped to look like a katana. While it certainly looks beautiful, it still carries the same odd structure and the weight on the tip the regular variant has. The only reason why Lisette is able to use it effectively is that she is actively practicing kendo, her superhuman strength, and sheer insistence of liking how it looks.

Its true strength lies in its symbolic meaning against bloodsucker. While a Black Key is spiritually strong against western vampires, the shape of a katana grants it a slight spiritual advantage against Oni and half-blood, allowing her to damage them even with a Black Key.

    Flight Unit
A jetpack that can reach the speed of a sports motorbike. Lisette adapts unique maneuvers using the jetpack and customized Black Key in tandem. She is capable to forcefully change her course by using the sword’s unique weight on the tip as a pointer and increase her falling speed by pointing the sword downward to give her a devastating momentum. Mr. Dawn is highly amused with this, bragging about Lisette’s exploit as if she was his own daughter.

    Saints’ Burden - Holy Robes
Using the story of Saint Christopher, where he is capable of carrying the weight of Christ; Mr. Dawn engineered four sets of armor based on Lisette’s request. While it is impossible to fully emulate the Saint’s original exploit, Lisette is able to carry the weight of a lesser holy man at a time. Dubbed as ‘Holy Robes’, these gears emulate the feats of other (military) Saints as a passively casted Sacrement. Though very powerful, they are very Od consuming and physically restraining for the user, making them used mostly as a last resort.

    Robe of Fire - Florianus
The red colored Robe is infused with the relic of Saint Florian, said that his remains grew too heavy during its transport. As the Patron Saint of Firefighters, the robe grants her various immunity against fire based attributes, such as flame, heat and also lightning. It also grants her an increased strength from the extreme conceptual weight it carries.

The protection against fire based attribute is exploited by Mr. Dawn, installing the robe various fire generating mechanisms such as flamethrower, rocket powered engine and the ability to set itself on fire, without need to worry it will harm the user.

    Robe of Arms - Nicomedia
The bronze colored Robe emulates both Saint Adrian and his wife - Natalia, a Herculean guard that publicly announced his faith. The Patron Saint of Arms Dealer, the robe grants her an amazing dexterity on using weaponry. Four mechanical arms are installed on the robe, and as Lisette emulates two people at once, she can command the four arms as if they are her own limbs to some degree.

    Robe of Lightning - Barbara
The green colored Robe emulates the miracle of Saint Barbara, a pious woman that continues to hold her faith despite being tortured by her own father. The Patron Saint of Artillery, the robe grants her powerful weaponry that is capable of converting Od and Mana in an accelerated speed to fire a very powerful lightning bolt or a petrifying beam. As Barbara capable to resist the torture by her own father and a betrayal of a shepard, the robe grants her an increased mental fortitude, making her able to think calmly and analyze the battlefield in any situation.

    Robe of Shields - Demetrios
The blue colored Robe emulates the miracle of Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, credited for miracles that saved his city from repeated sieges. The Patron Saint of Thessaloniki, the robe grants her four shields that are conceptually effective on defending against bombardment. As the saint of agriculture and shepherd, it also grants her continuous stamina. But due to the story that Saint Demetrius' relic is a sham, it is prone for maintenance more often than the other three.

A rival character that I made for my main character.

I have only read a few Mage sheets since the resurgence of CaM thread, but I think this is my favourite church related magus sheet so far. Cool ideas and application of relics.
The only thing that seems out of place is the jetpack lol. This could have been robe perhaps that makes her lighter and with her jump power can emulate flight somewhat. I imagine it like naruto jumping but on steroids.

Really neat way to incorporate all the Sky Striker variants with the Holy Robes. Now you'll never run out of battle illustrations.

“Oh hello, Boss! Another mission for me? Consider it done then! In exchange, may you go out shopping with me after that? Heheh!”

    Kobe International Flute Competition, 2005.

A music competition where professional flutists from all over the world compete to determine the best. Naturally, such a high profile, international event always enters the headlines. During that year, the world of music was delighted by a 14 years old that was capable of matching the champion in skill.

The name is Sakahara Saiai, a music prodigy that everyone can tell she will become one of the greatest flutists in the world. Yet that name vanishes from musical history.

    PROFILE

There is no such a thing as ‘Sakahara family’ in the moonlit world. At the very least, the Sakahara family she was born in has always been an ordinary family. They are no magus nor they develop psychic abilities, for a century they are simply a law abiding citizen that never caused any trouble.

Sakahara Saiai is no exception of that fact. Sure, her parents died in an accident and she & her twin sister must survive alone. She learns how to play the flute through a mundane means by simply training every day and pushing herself beyond the limit of others. Because she loves to play her flute, because she wants to be the best in Japan. And so she enters a very elite music school to achieve her dream. But that’s all there is to it.

Or so, that’s how it's supposed to be.

During her first year of high school, she and her sister began to experience a sudden increase in their bodily temperature. They fall ill more often, sometimes unable to attend school for more than a month, and they take a suspended absence until their condition improves. Yet, Saiai continues to practice her flute outside of school, becoming even more skilled than her peers, she still hasn’t given up her dream just yet.

Their condition only grows worse and worse, as one day they noticed ‘head tumors’ on their forehead. These are no tumors, these are a symptom that they will grow a pair of horns.

    Horns of Oni.

Unknown to Saiai, her ancestors were originally Oni hybrids related to the famous Shuten Doji. To hide their very jarring inhuman characteristic that is their horns, they become a komuso, wandering monks that perform street flute music to attain enlightenment, as these monks typically hide their head with a straw basket. At some point they have been affiliated with the Demon Hunter Organization and the bakufu as their spies, but the gradual decline of their blood makes them weaker and ineffective for combat, and slowly they fade away to obscurity that not even their descendants are aware of their unique ancestry.

Saiai is a shakuhachi prodigy, her performance with the Japanese bamboo flute is beyond ordinary and her deceased parents know that, they decided to put all of their resources for their daughter to hone her abilities. However, they don't realize that this is the very same music that their ancestors play, and it unknowingly awakened her and her sister’s dormant Oni-blood simply from daily exposure to the music.

In 2002, during a family trip to visit a relative, Saiai, as always, played her flute whenever she got bored. Her father, who was driving at that time, suddenly awakened his long-dormant Oni-blood and lost control of himself, causing an accident that killed both of him and their mother.

The same thing happened in 2007, she was performing her flute to celebrate her fellow patients that have been cured from a rare disease, yet as she plays it quickly devolves into a horror. Her sister, unable to control her impulses, killed 12 people in the process. This incident reached the DHO’s ears, and her sister was taken by them. This is the last time she saw or heard of her sister.

As what happened to her after that, it seems that one of the doctors has a connection to the moonlit world, and noticed the ever growing condition of her forehead is supernatural in nature. Rather than bringing her to DHO’s custody, she was sold to a Chinese magus and experimented on for years to study mixed–bloods and demonic possession. Unable to defend against the magus, she decided to submit to her fate, in exchange that she can continue to hone her skill as a flutist.

Another incident happened in 2008 in China, Saiai who became the mistress of the magus ordered by her master to play her masterful flute performance in front of his guests. These magi suddenly enter a state of mania and begin to open fire with each other, killing them all including her master. This time, it was done deliberately, as she finally understood that all the two incidents in the past were caused by no other than her own performance simply by connecting the pieces of information from her master’s magical practices.

Saiai grows by herself in the city of Shanghai performing street performances. Now she understood to control her magical gift, she began to use it to smuggle and thievery. However, her horns make her unable to blend with modern society, making the moonlit world the only place for her to survive. Yet, at the same time, the moonlit world recognizes her unique heritage, she becomes targeted by many to earn cash or to study. Her only choice is to get entangled into the Chinese underworld, and within a year she has smuggled thousands of drugs and illegalities, and murdered more than 70 men. There is no peaceful day in her new life.

Enters Fang Trading Company, a syndicate which has been expanding their influence in preparation to storm the Spiritual Tomb of Albion to gain its power. The boss, witnessed and impressed by one of the carnage Saiai caused, decided to recruit her and grant her their protection. Saiai, who had been treated like a subhuman ever since she reached China, found home in her new master’s utilitarian view, thinking it as a fairer treatment of another human being rather than judging them by their heritage such as being a half-Oni.

As an FTC operative, Saiai became infamous within the Chinese underworld, earning the nickname “Siren of Fortune” due to her irresistible musical performance, and her 100% success rate during a deal. However, her appearance is far from reassuring despite the misleading epithet, as the name came from the fact 'the deal should be successful no matter what' when she is around. One could easily conclude that the deal is extremely important and valuable by proxy of her being there.

Her musical performance is capable of boosting allies’ strength and vitality beyond most humans.
Her musical performance is capable of moving allies’ paralyzed, unconscious or recently dead bodies.
Her musical performance is capable of overloading allies’ magic circuits or philosophy keys.

    Yes.

She is much less a goddess of victory, but more of an inhuman and efficient enforcer to ensure the company’s interest, and Saiai is more than happy to please her savior.

    ABILITIES AND MAGECRAFT

Being a fully matured half-blood, Saiai possesses stronger physical abilities than most humans. However, she rarely engages in close combat, as she prefers to use her superior stamina to continuously blow her flute to access her powerful magecraft.

Her magecraft is based of suizen (吹禅), a form of Zen meditation to achieve enlightenment by playing shakuhachi bamboo flute created by the legendary Chinese monk - Zhengzhou Puhua. It is extremely unique in a way that it uses sounds that normally distract one’s meditation as a means to concentrate, making it incompatible and naturally hostile to most magecrafts. Due to heavy emphasis on meditation, it is especially powerful against Chinese and other Hindu-Buddhism teachings-related magecrafts.

Just like many meditation, suizen aims to reach enlightenment by means of self-realization. Being a sound-based meditation allows her to force others that hear her songs to enter forceful self-realization, allowing her to unlock their Origins. Those who has unlocked their Origins become stronger than most, but it also makes them a slave to their desire, which she exploited with her next songs.

In tandem with her music, she releases a maddening haze from her body, an intoxicating technique inherited from her distant relation with Shuten Doji. It appears to be both magical and natural, as it disturbs the flow of magical energy and the heat causes a powerful hallucination, similar to nitrous oxide. By controlling their mind, she is capable of causing those who hear it to self-harm, accelerate their bodily mechanism or in magus case, overloading their own magical energy by themselves.

In case of a fresh corpse, her songs are capable of stimulating the brain and blood to circulate again, allowing her to turn her enemy into her own army of living dead for a few hours.

It is also unique in a way that there is no need for chants to activate her magecraft, as the musical sounds accomplish the same effect. While it sounds like just a different preference for casting a spell, it becomes especially effective toward many magi that are not familiar with music, as they are unable to differentiate the difference between notes.

All of these makes her an extremely dangerous and efficient killer, as she can hide her involvement in murder by making themselves to kill each other, self-harm, or becomes mad. Even magi would have a hard time to trace her involvement.

    CHARACTER

Saiai acts just like many women of her age will act. She enjoys most feminine activities such as fashion, beautifying herself, socializing with her friends, etc. If one defines goodness by how pleasant they are, then Saiai is undeniably a good person.

But her painful experience has turned her distrustful to humans, the girl that once smiled brightly has now become a bitter woman that hides her feelings with an eternal but trained smile. She never allows others to see her weakness, and only those she fully trusts have seen her upset.

Due to exposure through her own hypnotizing music, she has unlocked her own Origin and is on the brink of succumbing to her impulse as an Oni. At the same time, this makes her more reserved and capable of being in her own control unlike her family, as she slowly adapts with her heritage from a more intense daily exposure. Also, the sight of humans becoming a slave to their Origins gives her a sense of superiority, believing that this is a proof that humanity is truly petty by nature.

This makes the existence of Lisette Petitjean-Kosaki, who possesses the Origin of self-sacrifice, someone that she can’t tolerate existing.

Every time things become unbearable, she decides to cry her heart out by herself, in a place hidden by anyone's ears, not even her boss that she idolizes have seen her break.

If there are things that still hold a few shreds of her humanity, it is ironically her devotion to be a professional flutist that continuously destroys her life. Every time she plays it, she achieves momentary peace until the play's end, allowing herself to be drowned by self serene and hallucinate herself with the sight of her now gone loving family, while destroying someone’s life in the process.

Her gratitude for being protected by the FTC makes her the ideal enforcer to expand the influence of her boss. Though aware that the other woman simply sees her as another pawn, she continuously seeks her approval and praise, willingly to commit carnage in her name.

She is also still searching for her missing sister, and the reason why she continues to work in illegal deal business is to gain information of her whereabouts, as she can’t investigate the DHO with normal means.

This is Lisette's antagonist (not her rival), unlike her, this Sheet emphasize more on the character-side of things instead of abilities. And the Fang Company stuff is an original 'triad/syndicate' that another user made in different server. I was thinking to edit it out to make a better reading, but decided to leave it as is because she literally was made for that and I find it will be rude if I leave that out.

I am a sucker for music magecraft stuff, so this was a nice read. She is quite OP, controlling bodies with a flute is really something. But she is a woman fighting from afar, so her being the antagonist to a versatile close combat jetpack girl with four arms and a katana makes a nice contrast.

hmm. do y’all think a magecraft based around the esoteric aspects of mercury (and mercury poisoning) would be better classified as alchemy or metallurgy? i confess i’m not quite so familiar with the particulars of fate’s magecraft as i am with historical precedent, and i uh. can’t recall if neoplatonism ever plays a role here. but i’m having some Very Fun ideas regarding a possible crypter for my (equally tentative) French Swamp Lostbelt, pulling in both the association of mercury with the pursuit of immortality and the lawful evil corporate gaslighting that accompanied the chisso min amata mass poisoning incident and others of its ilk :0

Kayneth's version is alchemy. Also I don't think the word metallurgy was ever used to describe magecraft.

"Heh? Are you seriously gonna try and stop me? You're welcome to try but I make it my mission to stick it to the man. If you get in my way, I'll charge at you with MAXIMUM power!"

    Name: Libera Echter Vandegren
Aliases: Free Bird, Rebel in White, Super Adapter, Cockroach
    Age: 46
    Height/Weight 185 cm/ 64 kg
    Countery of Origin: Finland
    Element: Earth
    Origin: Survival
    Circuit Quality: A
    Circuit Quantity: C+
Affiliations: Department of Botany (Former), Prague Association (Former), Elysium Society
    Servant: Sun Wukong (Avenger)
    Command Seal:

    Background
The Vandegren family was a North European Family whose magecraft centered around Druidic arts mixed with the warrior culture of Scandinavian Vikings and the ascetic monks from the middle ages who suffered as a way of attaining penance. In an effort to reach the root, they wished to understand the place where life and the truths of the world run abundant and self-evident: nature. They believed that living life without the conveniences of technology would let them understand the root of all life and thus the root of all magic as well. Of course, they took this in a very tough, warrior like manner, choosing survive in the harshest environments they can, building homes using nothing but the trees and rocks around them, using nothing but the simplest tools or their bare hands, and going only the bare minimum when it came to modern civility. For years the family lived in a large, secluded, wooden manor in the mountains of Scandinavia. However, in modern day, the family's way of life has stagnated, becoming more rigid, controlled, and refined, ironically devoid of the same harsh unpredictability of their ancestors.
This was the family that a young Libera was born to, one he found increasingly troublesome as he grew up with a rebellious, carefree personality. Once he came of age, he rejected his role as the family's heir and ran from home. He threw himself into the streets of Finland as a vagabond, and eventually travelling travelling around the world wandering and roaming around where the wind took him. He threw himself into learning whatever random bits of Magecraft he could find, got into fights, did drugs, and essentially lived a reckless lifestyle and powering through any consequences it brought onto him through sheer force of will and brute strength. This is what Libera saw as the true essence of his ancestor's way of life adapting to the conveniences of the modern world. He eventually wished to help others "stick it to the man", becoming a hired revolutionary working for various rebel groups and even starting his own cults which has required intervention from the Mage Association from time to time. This has earned Libera a place on the Associations "Most Wanted List". He was last seen in Italy working with a crime family, but left after being approached by Lou Rgisgaia of the Elysium Society. There have been rumors of him appearing in various places around the world ever since, but they have been unconfirmed.

    Personality
Libera is a hot headed, carefree person with a tendency for getting into fights and arguments with people. He does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants and anyone who tries to stop him will face his wrath. However, he can also be slothful and self-assured, regressing to a simple minded, reactionary mind set once his schemes have been set. This, combined with his mind set of “going with the flow” also means that his plans tend to be vague, disorganized, and usually only consist of a very simple plan with situational back-up plans that rarely come into play. He works best when supported by the other members of Elysium or someone more organized.

    Magecraft
    Physiology of the Saint
    Nirvana
An application of Libera’s Origin of Survival which represents his nigh unshakeable force of will and his knack for surviving harsh environmental conditions. Using his knowledge of Eastern Alchemy and Druidic arts, Libera has turned his own body into a miniature alchemical factory. Over the years, he has consumed various drugs, plants, and materials with deep mystical connotations in order turn himself “superhuman”. Jumping incredible heights, incredible physical strength, improved vision and mental capacity, and more. Libera has even been seen breathing fire and healing wounds. Simply put, at least physically, his body is difficult to destroy.
    Self Metallurgy
    Metallica
A defensive application of his first ability. Using alchemy with the substances inside his body as the materials and his own skin as the "catalyst", he can change the chemical composition of his skin, usually into different metals. He can, with enough concentration, turn into different elements as well, but only parts of his body, lest he lose his form all together.
    New Age Ghost Parade
    Black Sabbath
Libera's application of the Malagasy concept of "Tromba", similar to the work of spirit mediums, where one either allows themselves or is forced to be possessed by ancestral spirits. People caught in a "Tromba" are usually said to move in a certain manner, like in a trancelike dance, mimmicking the likeness of the dead. In combination with his origin of Survival, he can temporarily take on the properties of a "ghost", as if adapting his body to its new cohabitant. Of course, due to the nature of this ability, this state only lasts for up 30 seconds, and any further is dangerous. Additionally, Libera needs to drink a special alcoholic concoction to induce this state.
    Extra Information
    Miscellaneous Skills
Libera is a skilled martial artist and has an intimate knowledge of biology and medicinal herbs. He also has an acute understanding of how Social Hierarchies and how to tear them down. Despite all this knowledge and intellect, he is also care-free and a not very proactive once he’s satisfied.

    Notes

SO this is my first try at a Mage Sheet! Libera is one of the antagonists my project on the Singularity/Lostbelt thread so I figured I'd make him a mage sheet to show just what he's capable of. I wanted to go with a hot headed hippie vibe and wanted to fit his abilities in with his whole "go with the flow" personality while also showing off his Origin. It was rlly fun coming up with stuff for this guy.

    MARTHAL OTHNIEL MCRLWAIN

    [ [ ACCESS FILE ] ]

Alias: Corpse Eater, Marty McDie Magecraft: pseudonecromantic witchcraft
    Age: 24 Origin: Centrifugality
Height/Weight: 180cm/50kg Element: Earth, Water (Av. One)
Country of origin: United States Circuit Quantity: D+++
    Affiliation: none Circuit Quality: C+++
Image colour: Dark red Circuit Composition: Altered, semifluid

    Background
Marthal was born to the McRlwain family in New Haven in the state of Connecticut. The family has been affiliated with Clock Tower for generations, and are descended from Othniel Charles Marsh. Marsh was not a Magus, but is responsible for their large collection of fossils and the means to reassemble them into any form necessary, and as such he has been immortalised in their family name. However, their original Magecraft revolved not around fossils, but corpses - the family is a clan of necromancer-witches with roots in the ancient Middle East. Marthal was an attempt to reclaim that art. He was a fantastic success.

However, there was a problem. Some generations ago, a curse was placed upon the McRlwain bloodline, wherein the mother would always die in childbirth, and the father would always be killed by his offspring. As such, Marthal’s father had something of a dilemma to solve - the creation of a child more powerful than himself, but simultaneously a child who lacked the power to oppose him. Marthal was exposed to a wide variety of “treatments” in order to ensure his compliance: brainwashing, gaslighting, systematic Machiavellian manipulation of his world. He was taught that his father was something to be feared, someone who could never be overcome, that there would be grave consequences for his disobedience.

At the same time, he was sculpted into a perfect tool of his own Magecraft - spiritually, physically, psychologically. He was made to perceive others as nothing more than “unripe corpses”, something that could not be differentiated from the dead who inhabited his own mind. Despite this, the fear of his father even slipped into his Magecraft, making him unable to psychologically adapt to its cannibalistic demands that his inborn instinct already led him to reject.

In almost every way, Marthal is a perfect success. He is a reclamation of a lost art who could not even fathom fulfilling his destiny. He is a being of Magecraft, never seeing the opportunity to develop the ability to communicate with others outside of his family, nor having the mentality to be able to learn to develop it. If there was one flaw, it was that it was so difficult to get him to use the Magecraft that his father had worked so hard to recover with any enthusiasm.

Marthal was unable to exist in that environment forever. He is currently on the run, but his family has exhibited little interest in chasing him. Perhaps that is because so long as his Crest exists, so too will his bloodline. There is no special reason to keep him now that he has been completed, and it’s almost asking for trouble if his father were to try to recover him now after the curse has been seemingly averted. Besides, his younger half-sister has value even without the Crest…

    Personality
Likes: Dogs, coffee, games you can play by yourself
    Dislikes: Magecraft, meat, humans
    Talents: Memory
Natural enemy: Those who do what they must
    Alignment: Neutral Evil

On the surface, Marthal is a curt, blunt, but perfectly amicable person. He does not emote very clearly, and he is absolutely miserable at reading between the lines in a conversation, but he obviously means well. He has been compared to a dog before due to his tendency to follow people he sees as authority around until a request is made of him, and usually looks as though he’s lost or confused. His initiative is not very impressive, although there’s obviously a lot of something going on inside his skull at any given moment. He eats quickly, dislikes strong foods, and gets antsy if he can’t brush his teeth immediately after a meal.

Marthal is a greatly distressed soul. He would like nothing more than to give up Magecraft in its entirety and to live a normal life, and yet he is fundamentally inhuman from the start. Not only is his nature as a quasi-witch something that hinders him, but also his upbringing that kept him isolated from almost all human contact. His world has been so far removed from that of normality, raised so far from any existing culture, that he simply cannot interact with others beyond a simple transactional level. He does not know how to express his thoughts and emotions, because he has never had the opportunity to learn the words to speak of them. Likewise, despite his desire to be rid of this way of life, he cannot bring himself to relate to others - or rather, he cannot comprehend the notion of “others as something that can be related to”. In his eyes, the living are no different to the undead, simply wandering in search of a final resting place. He cannot recognise them as anything else, no matter how hard he tries. He is emotionally isolated, and yet his instincts as a human being cry out into the void in search of something to ground them.

His sense of self is characterised by fear, practically comparable to a wild animal. He needs to continue to eat corpses in order to maintain the existence that he hates simply because he has nothing else he can do or be. Unfortunately, he happens to be carrying some carefully cultivated traumas that prevent him from even getting used to the act of devouring the dead: a contradiction that leads him to wallow in a horror that underscores everything in his life. That muted fear is a stress that he cannot escape no matter where he runs. If he had a wish, it would be for the removal of his Circuits entirely.

    Abilities
    Malefic Yid’oni (Undead)
A form of Magecraft originating in the Levant. The characteristic spell of malefic yid’oni is bone-conjuring, which appears at first glance to be necromancy in the form of raising the dead with shades. In actuality, it is a form of witchcraft that merely mimics necromancy: with one’s own magical energy, remains are imbued with the same functions as the caster’s own body, allowing them to manipulate the remains as an extension of themselves called Facsimiles. The sharing of senses is par for the course, as well as the remote casting of Magecraft, making the corpses akin to highly intimate familiars. Because it is very energy-intensive, it is difficult to perform large-scale rituals, but it is possible to use even very old remains with this method even if accessing their spirits would be completely impossible.

In addition, some smaller-scale simpler rituals do exist. For example, the McRlwain will often use a certain ritual on scattered animal remains to assemble and bind a functional body from various and often miscellaneous parts. This is a Magecraft that connects the caster’s own mind and body to the parts available to it, attuning them to each other to assemble something that is intuitive to them. It is not particularly helpful in a vacuum, but in the context of Facsimiles, it is incredibly useful: it allows the caster to quickly and easily create and repair vessels even without a complete set of body parts. The spell’s effects are temporary, lasting a variable amount of time depending on the size and complexity of the result, as well as the ability of those involved in the ritual. On average, Marthal’s abilities when casting it by himself allow him to hold together something comparable to a horse for around six hours, and something akin to a whale for around one hour.

There is naturally a limit to the number of bodies that can be controlled at a time, including the caster’s own, before it becomes too overwhelming for a single human mind, so it is important to properly detach oneself from their Facsimiles when they are not in immediate use. Although it is not something that the McRlwain Crest possesses, this particular Magecraft theoretically has an excellent compatibility with the Memory Partitioning Magecraft used by the alchemists of Atlas.

Even corpse parts that would normally be completely incompatible in a living creature can be combined. This allows for assembled Facsimiles that could not exist as real creatures, but possess a great deal of aptitude in combinations of areas that would normally be impossible with ordinary corpses. Furthermore, it is possible to anchor the ritual with the proper equipment in order to create something termed an assembly loop, wherein even if the product is “forcibly dismantled”, it will automatically cast the spell again with any residual magical energy from its binding to reconstruct itself. This reduces the remaining duration of the binding in return.

In Marthal’s case, as the owner of the McRlwain Magic Crest, he is a kind of false Witch who returns to the earth in the same manner as corpses. Using the basic principles of malefic yid’oni, he is able to “become” that which he devours, similar to Fairies made of the grudges of humans and animals who have perished. Using a Sorcery Trait by the name of Translation, the souls and grudges of what he devours must be converted into curses, which he holds with him permanently. Despite appearances, this is indeed not spiritual evocation.

The only spiritual art involved in his yid’oni is that of self-possession, wherein by taking a bone (ideally of an animal) into one’s body, such as in one’s mouth, it is possible to partially possess oneself with the spirit of the corpse, accessing its knowledge, memories, and a fragment of its personality. It can be called a “hasty, low-budget” seance that is significantly downscaled; the art is high in speed and efficiency even if it is lacking in potency and thoroughness. Animals are ideal because their spirits have more integrity than the lower-ranking shades of humans, making the rushed nature of the spell less of an obstacle to good results.

With the Crest, it is also completely possible to entirely transfer one’s soul and consciousness into another body using this Magecraft using a subformula by the name of Appraisive Denial. In this way, a corpse can be occupied as the new body, although this is not on the level of resurrection, and the body will continue to rot as usual. It is important to find a new one before the one in use is done decomposing, although preservation of the corpse through magical means is perfectly possible. Appraisive Denial is somewhat unique in its structure on the Crest, thought to be a vestige of an older form of this Magecraft from the Age of Gods.

    -

    Corpse Eater
Marthal’s signature Magecraft. A sickening taboo even among Magi, but one forced upon him all the same. A ritual composed by every aspect of his possessed Mysteries working in tandem, involving the devouring of corpses. Unlike the normal self-possession, bones alone are insufficient, and a significant amount of a fresh corpse must be devoured. It is not the same as simply “consuming flesh”, and so eating normal meat does not qualify to use this Magecraft. He must specifically eat a corpse - the fresher and the more intact, the better.

In doing so, the dead’s physical form, mentality, and spiritual characteristics are all translated into curses, adding to a repertoire of stains and corruptions that have soaked into his entire being. For those with eyes for such things, he would appear to be something like a disgusting sponge or stuffed doll that has absorbed all kinds of filth and grime to the point where it would be better burned than cleansed. It is possible to even steal Magecraft in this way, but because of the modification made to Marthal’s Circuits to be able to use this ritual at all, the effectiveness of even devoured Magic Crests is much lower.

Through this, he has stolen a number of Mysteries and arts that he can make use of:

Memory Partition: Marthal is capable of splitting three rooms, but this only results in three trains of thought rather than the usual nine.
Material Transmutation: The capacity to modify, reshape, and adjust the properties of matter. However, Reinforcement was something he learned on his own.
Curse of Restoration: The regenerative capacity possessed by the Dead Apostles that reverses time to ignore wounds. However, his version is much weaker than that of a genuine vampire, as it does not gain any bonuses from the presence of the moon.
Regression Magecraft: Specifically a kind of Magecraft taken from the Glascheit clan. Originally, it was designed so that the user connects to a certain beast, fusing it with themselves through means similar to Reinforcement. Marthal has a high compatibility with it because of the number of curses within him, and he can use any of the animals he has eaten for this purpose, and can even use this to transform himself into other humans that he has devoured. However, using this at all is an enormous strain for him, and using it in its original form (evoking a werewolf) is a trump card he can only use for about four minutes at most.

    -

Mystic Code: Earth Keys of Binding
A number of fired clay pins, each with the word for truth (אֱמֶת) and the name of Adam (אָדָם) carved into them. Originally a Mystic Code designed for hastened golem creation, the McRlwains have incorporated them into their own Facsimile assembly. In planting up to six of the pins within the body of a Facsimile, it is possible to grant regenerative abilities to it by means of creating a magical loop where the assembly ritual will repeatedly recast itself. Marthal’s possession of the Crest allows him to create any number of these pins in just a few hours so long as he has access to enough clay.

    -

    Liquid Flesh
An elixir composed of material acquired from a living organism - such as blood, skin, semen, and so on - that can be applied to wounds in order to heal them. It takes around a day to prepare a usable batch, and it must be carried around in a container and can only heal the one whose material was used to create it. Excessive application will lead to tumours, so it must be used carefully. It can instantly reconstruct skin, muscle, cartilage, and even internal organs, but it cannot restore bone or especially complex structures like eyes. It can reattach lost limbs provided that the limb is present to be bound. Nerves will heal over time, but they are beyond the ability of the draught to instantly recover, and so the use of a body part after particularly severe damage may be impaired or even impossible for some time after application.

Through related formulae, Marthal’s Magic Circuits have partially merged with the liquids in his body to become a very similar substance: a fragile gelatinous mass of threads barely differentiable from his blood, muscle, and cerebrospinal fluid. The potency of his magical energy is lowered substantially as a result, but his potential for self-modification is greatly heightened in exchange.

I have no idea what possessed me to make the least edgy edgelord of all time, but I guess this is my offering so I have at least something to show for my absence. Hi everyone! Don't mind the mess! By the way, anyone who knows anything about Othniel Charles Marsh knows exactly what's coming with Marthal's little sister, and it's going to be totally worth Onii-chan's suffering.

Five consonants slapped together in McRlwain, that sure is a mage name. Nice take on the so popular of Creepypasta Kirby. Is that faceclaim Kadoc tho?

It's tagged as original on Pixiv, but I can't rule out some inspiration. A lot of angles look more distinct than this one, but I picked him because it looked most like he was about to cry.

    Because he always is.

He might show up in that world at some point, but I basically just made him because I wanted to make his little sister for reasons and but I liked him too so I wrote him up and figured I might as well post him.

    Personality

A woman who cares not for the feelings of others in a conversation, she talks her mind out but never repeats the same thing twice since if a person is bored the first time, repeating the sentence does not help, adaptability is her strong point. It’s always something new being spat out and she takes pride in her frivolously annoying chat. Most people would rather not talk to her due to her open minded nature, partially because she can talk about sex without a glint of tact and partially because she speaks about the various illegal adventures she has been on. One time, she openly talked about how she mugged a child, not because she wanted to but because the act itself sounded quite fun. She gave what she took from the kid back though, so there is no need to worry.

Another example would be the time she went to a club with a fake ID despite being of age, why? For the thrill of it! Of course that specific incident had no thrill in it whatsoever as the guard kicked her out. Despite all the inconveniences she dresses like a noble, acts like a refined lady who is an adamant patron of the arts that enjoys all things life has to offer but she is simply just annoying to listen to. Even if her bombardment of pointless talk bores someone, her sweet regal tone makes people obligated to listen to her lest they risk hurting her feelings.

As expected she enjoys what the modern world has to offer, especially in terms of technology, once she got her hands on a console she couldn’t stop playing for a few days, BoB had to physically snatch it from her to make her move from the couch. Though at some stage she met a girl who was more fascinated by her than bored which shook Aspasia but she was over the moon that she had found someone who listened to her so attentively. The only issue however is that she was a normal human with nothing attached to the world of magi, BoB suggested her that she should not be attached to her but Aspasia didn’t care, if the world of magi is something to be hidden then she will do her utmost best to never reveal it to her friend, simple as that. To summarize, Aspasia is someone who enjoys what the world has to offer and she will relish in that fact until the day she dies.

    Backstory

The Demetrioglou have been residing in Europe for over 1500 years, the family’s main goal in mind was to study the so-called pseudo-immortality achieved by the dead apostles. Their research mainly consisted of the study of corpses or ghouls before they turned into bloodsuckers, by looking into their bodily functions and other mystical phenomenon they dipped their feet into the arts of necromancy and alchemy. The result of their research was a foundation purely custom to themselves, they believed that one day they could achieve immortality without turning into a blood sucking dead apostle.

The current generation of the family had two prodigious magus, the first being Aspasia and the other being her older brother Alexios. Aspasia’s main talent and interest resided in necromancy whilst her brother was more well versed into the alchemical side of things, it was a challenging situation as both of these siblings were almost on par with each other however due to Aspasia’s circuit being overall better than her brothers whilst also being an Average one pushed her magical talent to new heights. So at the end the younger one was chosen as the heir whilst the older came second in line for the crest. As far as Alexios is concerned, he has no objections to such an ordeal, if anything he respects his sisters wishes since he was always the type who preferred to be left alone with his research. Aspasia however tends to call him out most of the time since he suspiciously disappears from the family estate though he assures her that he isn’t doing anything that would interest her.

At some stage she studied at the clocktower, though her time there wasn’t long she made friends with a certain magus from a distant clan residing in China. Presently, Aspasia is traveling the world since she has so much free time she would ever need to study, may as well do it with a bit of sightseeing or so she says. There are only a few things in this world that can harm her so her brother usually leaves her alone in that regard and doesn’t stop her despite her elders wishing for her to continue research at the estate.

    Skills

Cooking A capable cook, she could make the best home cooked meals, her brother says that she would one day make a great housewife though Aspasia herself sells her cooking short, it's actually really good. There is clearly talent within her in this area as well, though it's nothing more than a hobby.
    Art
A patron of the arts, from painting to sculpting to even modern forms of art such as digital illustrations, Aspasia loves to draw her heart out. Typically cute girls but that's neither here nor there.
    Gaming
She’s a pro league gamer, what? It’s one of her hobbies!! Modern technology is something that fascinates her and to her there is no end of entertainment to be found within them.
Martial Arts Martial arts of European origin aka HEMA, a practitioner of longsword that reached expert leagues from a young age, although she could have pursued a possible career in martial arts by entering tournaments, such luxury was not meant for her as she lost interest in it though it does help her in battle regardless. She still practises from time to time but not as adamantly as when she was younger.

Magecraft: Demetrioglou Magic Crest "The Seven Alchemical Metals"

A 1500 year old magic crest with knowledge that combines the art of alchemy and necromancy to achieve a specialization that delves into fusing organic matter with inorganic one, namely the Seven Alchemical Metals to achieve a mystical effect based on the metal utilized. Its application not just ranges from bodily modification but also in creation of specialized familiars formed through the corpses of the dead thus the family is well known to produce capable alchemists and necromancers alike. While each generation of the family devoted their research to a single field of specialization out of the two, Aspasia on the other hand due to being not only an Average one but also talented in necromancy in general can be considered one of the strongest magus her bloodline has ever produced. There is only one other who can match Aspasia’s will and talent and that's her brother but due to her having circuits of higher quality and being an Average one, she was chosen as the heir. Their sorcery trait is called Cremation, which allows them to infuse inorganic and organic matter together.

Casting-"One Line" A spell that is utilized to pour an alchemical metal, usually in liquid form onto a dead corpse of either an animal or human to modify their internal decaying structure such as their bones, skin and other organic parts. After this the corpse is then raised as a typical zombie would however due to the fact that their body is modified by one of the metals, they are in actuality turned into specialized familiars at the casters disposal. The original frame and physical attributes of the corpse are retained, it is just that their flesh-like mass is dissolved into the metal. They can also be further upgraded and reinforced later on should the caster desire to do so, giving the familiars even more function. The strength of these familiars is increased exponentially due to this spell and in addition to that they achieve mystical effects which are obtained by deriving magical meaning from what the metals themselves represent. The effects obtained by being ‘casted’ by each metal are as follows:

(♄) Plumbum metallicum (Earth-Aligned): The association of lead with death or more accurately, its association with the process of ‘aging’ that results in death creates a unique familiar with a myriad of abilities. First of which inflicts a curse that essentially is capable of affecting the flow of ‘time’. Lead is in essence a poison, thus wounds inflicted by the familiar will seep the lead into the target's body and due to the association with ‘time’ the capacity of the poison to affect the target accelerates. Not only that, the initial wound inflicted by the familiar will also heal slower. To counteract the poison silver can be used as a healing agent.

This is a deadly familiar that is essentially great for assassination purposes if ‘casted’ onto a corpse of a small animal such as small birds. It is also possible to ignite the lead in the body of the target or the familiar itself, as lead is the metal of darkness that is utilized as a chemical basis for turning into gold, a curse of ignition that brings forth light becomes possible. The flaming familiar slowly turns into gold, losing its abilities of lead and gaining new ones in exchange. Coincidentally, lead familiars are very effective against dead apostles as they are capable of halting their ‘Curse of Resurrection’ with their time altering abilities.

(♃) Stannum Metallica (Water-Aligned): The courtly metal Tin, the association of the metal with jewelry and it’s natural ability to resist ‘weathering’ to stay in pristine condition creates a familiar with a rather unique ability. By casting this metal, the familiar becomes resistant to other magical phenomena as ‘those that corrode it cannot affect it’ meaning the ‘weathering’ in reality works as a shield to deter outside interference. Familiars with this effect are usually the frontline bodyguards for Aspasia against other magi as their resistive nature to never ‘falter’ makes them an ample shield….or magus killers.

(♂) Ferrum Metallica (Fire-Aligned): The angry metal iron, the association of iron with war and in turn with aries allows the caster to create a familiar that is essentially a super soldier. The most used familiar by Aspasia and for good reason, the familiars created by this can be set in a state of ‘frenzy’ by triggering the corpses leftover memories of hatred to essentially increase their physical prowess further. In this state the familiar ignites itself in a bright red flame as it charges towards the target designated by Aspasia. The angry metal iron, for those who create weapons out of, march forward as they invoke the carnage that can only be seen within war and for Aspasia such familiars are her disposable soldiers.

(☉) Aurum Metallica (Fire-Aligned): The metal of perfection associated with the Sun known as Gold, familiars ‘casted’ by this metal gain a myriad of abilities, since Gold is the metal of perfection that has been the goal of many alchemists in the old days, it naturally counters ‘imperfections’. The heat generated by the familiars essentially acts as a passive ability that wards away impurities such as minor curses, evil spirits and cursed items. By gathering a group of these familiars it is possible to initiate a bounded field that purges away mystery in an area entirely, all impurities will vanish and dissipate, making the familiars quite useful.

Their other ability includes their offensive capabilities, due to their association with the Sun, Gold is the metal of perfection that shines new light at times of darkness. Essentially a flaming beam that scorches Aspasia’s enemies and brings forth the light of a new age. Utilizing a mass group of these familiars proves quite handy, especially since the transition from lead to gold can be achieved to formulate a sort of chain reaction.

(♀) Cuprum Metallica (Water-Aligned): The loving metal Copper, due to its association with Venus who promotes love. Familiars ‘casted’ by copper are for the most part supportive in nature, they gain the ability to heal those who need it. Minor maladies and wounds can be healed but there is another function for these familiars, they can inflict a ‘Mental Interference’ attack in the form of charm since copper is also associated with beauty. The longer one gazes upon the metallic familiars the stronger the charm.

(☿) Hydrargyrum Metallica (Ether-Aligned): The metal of life, associated with the staff of Hermes the Caduceus that brings forth life however that is only one of the effects of the familiars ‘casted’ by this metal. Mercury familiars boast an incredibly high defense and offense, they can change their bodily structure to fit whatever shape or size they desire freely. Aspasia utilizes these familiars to breed larger life forms, merging the familiars together to formulate a sort of super puppet that can take out a large group of enemies. Mercury however is also a double natured metal, possessing properties of death and decay as well as life and growth, meaning it is possible to poison those with mercury extensively. The familiars attacks are naturally affected, causing those who get wounded to be cursed with mercury. Combining this with Lead familiars results in a very painful death.

(☽) Argentum Metallica (Water-Aligned): The lunar metal silver, associated with the moon it creates familiars that are in essence gain abilities depending on the casters origin. Since the moon is associated with reflecting one's own inner soul to the outside world it becomes possible to create a familiar which is essentially an extension of one's spirit, thus it’s abilities are derived from Aspasia’s own origin. Her origin of ‘Refinement’ allows the silver familiar to gain adaptability at an accelerated rate to its surroundings. Attacks that tend to harm it, the familiar gains immunity against as they are repeated, same goes for spells and other forms of damage. So long as magical energy persists the familiars will keep on adapting to the environment, easily one of Aspasia's strongest familiars.
Moulting-"Single Action" The opposite of casting, if casting is ‘creating’ then moulting is ‘removing’. A spell that is simple, by calling for the ‘casted’ metal back to its owner the familiars and other constructs dissipate and vanish. Coincidentally this spell can also be utilized to extract metal that is poisoning an individual making it quite handy as a sort of on the spot healing spell.
Saluto Metallica "High-Thaumaturgy" The Magnum Opus of the Demitrioglou family, a High-Thaumaturgy boasting their most powerful enactment of mystery, their attempt to reach immortality can be defined by this very spell. The creation of a perfect body by combining all the seven metals, infused together in harmony to create the ultimate familiar. Once ‘Casted’ onto a corpse by using all the seven metals the puppet that rises forth is nothing short of a miracle, it is the result of the families research on dead apostles and their time altering abilities that are dubbed as ‘immortality’ in their eyes.

This familiar has two fold magical abilities, first of which is the ability to generate a bounded field that can manipulate the time of its ‘surroundings’ only, slowing down time or accelerating it. The second ability is to invert the very same bounded field to manipulate his ‘time’ only, achieving the same effects as when it manipulates the environment.

The acceleration and deceleration effects are nothing to scoff at, when inverted the familiar can ‘hyper accelerate’ its own time to ‘blink’ from one point to another or when the effect is dispersed onto the surroundings it can ‘slow down’ oncoming attacks in that area by a significant amount. Essentially it can be said that the familiar is capable of ‘stance switching’ from AOE to Single Target. Aside from this it boasts inhuman capabilities and requires a formidable opponent to defeat whilst simultaneously its magical energy consumption is quite high as well as each time manipulation of the time flow is done, the familiar actively deteriorates.
Specialized Reinforcement (Mercury) A specialized form of reinforcement done to Aspasia’s bone structure and muscles by infusing mercury with them. The infusion process itself takes a few hours to make sure nothing goes wrong. After the process is completed mercury is at Aspasia's disposal, its purpose is to make sure Aspasia can utilize magical energy safely without destroying her internal body structure. However this reinforcement comes at a cost, first of which is the fact that she needs to drink Tin every 12 hours or so to prevent mercury poisoning and secondly she burns through the metal the more magical energy she utilizes. In a grail war this would be quite undesirable but due to her Circuit Composition, this is a necessity. Other benefits include inhuman strength, giving her ‘+++’ modifiers in her physical parameters. As the mercury is used up, the inhuman strength wanes away until she returns back to normal. If she is simply idly preparing for something and is not in active combat, she can keep going up for two day but during combat she can go up to at least 10 hours but it really varies. Her automaton BoB makes sure she gets the reinforcement efficiently as the process itself is akin to surgery and requires time and care to perform.

    Minor Magecraft/Traits

Circuit Composition: Eruption Aspasia has circuits that are highly concentrated in her bones, thus the magical energy output is extremely high when casting spells. The issue however is that the heat generated by her circuits is like that of an erupting volcano, explosive is what it looks like when she goes all out. In essence the heat can melt her very bones and burn the muscle surrounding it, damage the nerves and overall leave Aspasia Crippled if she isn’t careful. To counter this, she uses a specialized form of reinforcement which is in reality infusing her bones and muscles with metal to give her body abnormal endurance so that she can safely output her magical energy without being turned into gloop.
Transmutation (Smelting) A simple transmutation technique, mainly utilized to turn alloys back into their base metals, for example Electrum which is an alloy of silver and gold with traces of copper will be smelt back into its base components of silver, gold and copper.

    Mystic Eyes of Laceration

Something she was born with, mystic eyes of the ‘Red’ ranking. Mystic eyes of laceration opens up ‘wounds’ further, from small cuts or large gashes, so long as she maintains eye contact she can open up the wounds to the point it slices up the entire body. For example a small cut on a finger can be further spread until the finger is completely sliced or a large gash on the abdomen area can be opened up to cleave the body in half so long as there is magical energy. As far as Aspasia is concerned, opening up wounds on the enemy is child's play for her especially with one of her mystic codes being able to produce countless needles made out of mercury to raid after the enemy. A set of eyes that are quite deadly. As an added note they can even halt healing so long as magical energy persists.

    Mystic Code

    Name: Liber Folorium
    Rank: A
Effect: A special grimoire that Aspasia keeps close to herself, one of her family's treasures. It is a thick book with an intricate design but when opened, it reveals shining, glimmering sheets of metals. The pages of this book are substituted for the seven alchemical metals, the true purpose of this book is to ‘mould’ the metallic sheets into weapons, deriving their effects depending on the metal utilized. The effects are the same as the ones utilized on her familiars, except the method of attack is different. She usually ‘moulds’ them into various weapons like swords, needles, daggers and small dense bullets. With this and combined with her mystic eyes, it makes for a deadly combination.

    Automata
Name: Butler BoB - The Skull
    Rank: A+
Description: True name, Joesaphani Fitzgerald Demitrioglou. A magus from the 4th generation of the family that existed 1200 years ago in the early days of the clan but unfortunately for him he accidentally performed an experiment that backfired, the result was his entire body being merged with iron resulting in his death. The heir at the time decided to make him into an automaton, returning most of Fitzgeralds memories with the remnants and tweaking his personality for better utility. Over the years he has been tweaked and modified to work as a perfect butler and bodyguard but after some time mainly due to the industrial revolution, the upgrades had to be stopped.

Due to his name being a mouthful Aspasia just calls him ‘BoB’ whilst her brother calls him ‘Willy’. He absolutely hates the nicknames, he is what you would expect of a typical gentlemanly butler who is uptight and noble, with a harsh tone of an old man who often scolds Aspasia for her behavior against him. As far as abilities go he is not all that flashy, fighting with armor made of mercury during battle that gives him impenetrable defence and his own attack power is something that can take on a lesser dead apostle, he is the ultimate bodyguard.

Aspasia also utilizes him as a medium to do her Specialized Reinforcement, since that in itself requires time and the procedure is somewhat delicate, she trusts in her butler to get the job done. Due to being made out of iron it is possible for Aspasia to trigger his ‘Berserk’ state by locking away his sanity to make him a pure battle machine that plummets her enemies.

Those who are socially conscious and well-updated know who Tendou Shinka is. After all, if one tries to search hard enough on social media, there are plenty of… scandalous ‘rumors’ can be found on the internet.

Long story short, the likes of her nude photos and sex tapes has been spread across Japan.

Even to those who understand the Tendou is a magus family, none is unable to comprehend her shameless actions, and has been long seen as a disgrace to magus society. Despite that, it seems the Tendou have no plan to correct their 38th scion’s behavior. After all, as far as they are concerned, Shinka faithfully follows the family’s dogma founded since the Heian period-

—mono-no-aware, the beauty in transience, the pathos of things.

“All of us will die someday. I simply wanted to follow our tradition, and lived my youth to the fullest!” said Shinka cheerfully.

    Profile
Founded in 800 AD, The Tendou is a very old clan that has seen multiple eras of Japan. They rose to prominence during the reign of Tokugawa Yoshimune (1716-1745 AD), being the pioneer of the hanami custom, the famous cherry blossom viewing. Ever since then, they decided to stay on the sidelines of politics, choosing not to gather attention to themselves, and managed to survive until the modern era.

In modern time, the Tendou is quite well known in the world of art as the patron of hanami. They collaborated with the national meteorological agency to organize all kinds of cherry blossom festivals. And they keep tracks of the date when all sakura flowers blooms on the same day across Japan. They also funded many prestigious seminars to showcase and teach their art.

Similar with the Tsuchimikado and Yakou, they are one of the eight family holding a Divine Organ. In particular, they are known to be the family that ‘blessed by heaven’, as there is no apparent side effects that can be observed from their usage of a deity’s remains.

In term of preserving the heritage of Japan, they are the role model for both the surface and moonlit world alike.

Just like the many predecessors before her, Tendou Shinka has mastered many essential traditional ceremonies by age 13. She has been tutored in proper Japanese etiquette, particularly to appreciate the beauty of the temporary and that teaching has been ingrained as a habit. All of these give her a well-earned reputation as a girl that embodies Japanese social values.

Except one thing, the girl is very open about her sex life.

There is no special circumstance or anything similar, nor does her family being particularly harsh with her. Just like many youths, it began as a simple curiosity. She confessed by a boy that she got along well, they dated together, and in the heat of the moment, they did something reckless. And just like many childish romances, it ended when they got into a simple quarrel, neither willing to apologize and the two parted from each other.

Though the event hurts her feelings, she still appreciates the happy time she had together with her first boyfriend, and the reckless part… It was fun, really fun, and felt very nice. The value to appreciate transience she had makes her naturally arrive at that positive conclusion, and makes her seek for more pleasure.

In the first place, Shinka is an attractive young woman that came from a very prestigious family, it doesn’t take much time until another boy confessed his feelings. She entered a relationship, have a good time with it, break up, and entered another relationship again, repeat. And the more she tries, the more curious she is to try something new, and so does the boundary she is willing to break. By the time she entered her third year, she have dated more than thirty boys, and was hated by girls of her age.

When fellow magi asked if her behavior is some sort of ritual that requires sexual activity, she will clarify:

“No need to worry about me. I’m just doing what I want to do.”

    Abilities and Magecraft

Like other families that possess a Divine Organ, the Tendou seeks to preserve and use it for their own use. The organ they hold is the skin of Konahana Sakuya-Hime, the goddess of volcanoes, sakura blossom, and delicate earthly life in Shinto mythology. This helps them to have a clear pointer to the beauty the goddess had, by trying to imitate her skin as much as possible with their own body.

The Tendou stand out in the moonlit world as a very old clan that has reached its 38th generation. They are renowned for their eternally beautiful heirs, and many of their branches are married to different families. They were also often blessed with a healthy bodies, something that the Yakou envied as their practice crippled their heirs. However, for the Tendou themselves, this is nothing they felt particularly proud of, it is simply just how it is, just how life is supposed to be.

Mono-no-aware, the beauty in transience, appreciation toward the ephemeral. This famous saying in the world of art also became their way of life, and what they named their Sorcery Trait from.

In exchange for access to the divine, their beauty and magecraft, they preserve the goddess' remains directly with their life force. Most of them only reach their thirties before they die, and Shinka is expected to only live until the age of thirty-five. Because of this, it is not rare that many of them had a teen pregnancy. This is the true nature of their mono-no-aware, to be able to appreciate the short time they had, to continue to be beautiful both in the mind, body and soul fully knowing they aren't around for long.

By directly offering their life force to the goddess, this Sorcery Trait gives them access to the amount of magical energy and incantations they had paid. With many people celebrating hanami all across Japan, they unknowingly have performed a nationwide ritual for the Tendou to use. This allows them to perform what is supposed to be a ritual-class spell with a gesture of their hand, making them extremely feared and invincible in combat.

“We humans live in a very short amount of time, that should be an indication that we shouldn’t set any more limits to ourselves. I present to you, hanami, this sight will be your last, but it will be the beauty you most cherished.”

In Shinka’s case, her most trusted spell is Hanami (花波, lit: Flower Wave). In which she summons a gust of thousands of cherry blossoms that explodes with her command, and each of the petals is comparable to a C4 bomb in firepower. Its more powerful version, Ou Hanami (王花波, lit: Royal Flower Wave), is an extremely powerful spell, channeling magical energy across the nation that is comparable to a volcanic eruption.

    Character and Trivia

    CHARACTER:

A by the book and typical yamato nadeshiko one often sees in Japanese literature. Well spoken, feminine, and skilled with household matters such as knitting, cooking and tea ceremony, it’s easy to imagine how men easily fell for her womanly charm. If one ignore her nymphomaniac tendency, that is.

Behind the perfect mask that she and her family crafted, lies a woman that is curious to all manners of happiness the world had to offer. She enjoys learning new things, so she is naturally among the top academically in her school. She enjoys knowing new people, so she is naturally able to get along with anyone easily. She enjoys intercourse, so she naturally want to do it with others. There are many things to explore, yet she had so little time, so she sees something like societal norms as a hindrance at best.

“Why shouldn't I do something? Why shouldn't I do it until I’m tired of it? If no one is hurt, and I understood what would happen to me, I should be allowed to do anything, right? They say we aren’t gods that could do whatever we wanted, but I say it is exactly because we aren’t gods we should fill our lives with bliss as much as possible!”

Though not as extreme, this way of life is widespread among the Tendou. The death of a pet or a family member for example, while sad, only brings them melancholy. With a will to face departure unshakably, they performed the most beautiful and perfect ritual rites one would see in their lifetime. To protect her wonderful boyfriends and girlfriends, she quickly cut her link with them, sparing them from being attached to someone like her. Some may see them as cold, and some may see them as strong, but they are certainly able to move forward with the reality of their lives.

    “What do you think?”

The life Shinka leads may not be the last of the Tendou, and the chain that warped the entire bloodline may not be broken for eternity. But at the very least, at this very moment, they will make sure to live beautifully and without regrets.

“Let’s have an unprotected sex, ___-kun!”

That’s why, there is no need for the Tendou to stop whatever dangerous things Shinka is currently doing. If Shinka-sama wants to have an ^@%@$, let her be!

    TRIVIA:
    • Despite claiming she is okay with teen pregnancy, she hasn’t been pregnant yet.
    • The Goddess Konohana Sakuya-hime has set herself on fire to prove her innocence to her husband after getting pregnant one night.
    • She is willing to explore many kinds of play, but she isn't interested in playing that can be painful to her.

“If you are interested, you know where to call.”
