Hoping this doesn't count as a necro, but I just binge this thread after hearing the older profiles were finally getting translated, and quite a few things were interesting to me:

    - Anderson can use his NP to make shadow clones... ok, that sounds ridiculously useful for something that was never mentioned before.

    - Lancer Kiyohime apparently has no problems sharing the Master with her Berserker self, and even wants there to be more Kiyohime Servants (at least as many as Cu and ideally as many as Artoria) so the Master has less chances to escape... that is both arousing and pants-shittingly terrifying in equal measure.

    - Uesugi Kenshin is apparently female in Fateverse (unless that was a Rance Quest reference).

    - Iphicles, of all people, is apparently female in Fateverse (given the bizarre obsession Fateverse Greeks have with lolis I'm betting she is one, which suddenly makes Berserker's relationship with Illya a lot funnier; overprotective onii-chan Heracles is a go).

    - Theseus apparently isn't half the a-hole he was in the original myths.

    - Medea is confirmed as having killed her children... which is weird given the profile says she is fundamentally a good person and the whole "killing her children" thing was added way later and not part of the original myth. Also she's apparently soulmates with Achilles... huh.

With that out of the way, for some reason the link to the Jekyll story refuses to work for me. What's the name of the thread it's translated in?

Anderson being able to make copies of what people though of him was something that was mentioned in CCC. THe thing is tho as of yet we haven't actually seen him do anything with that.

I feel like I've seen the exact same question being asked just recently.

    Deja vu.

Actually, that sounds like one of the later Roman fanfics that came and tore the old Greek fanfics a new one. Like the whole "Achilles and Penthesilea" thing.

    Isn't that a British fanfic?
Or are you not referring to the Necrophilia version?

Apparently, the necrophillia thing showed up in Bibliotheca by someone claiming to be Apollodorus of Athens but was most likely a later-era Roman. But Penthesillea having any relation to Achilles at all is also a Roman invention, specifically Virgil's the Aeniad and Ovid's Heroides. Penthesilea's name doesn't appear in the Illiad at ALL.

And why should that matter? For one thing the Illiad only tells a part of the Trojan War, not it's entirety. I don't really care much if Pent was a Roman thing or not, but the myths I've read about her is always post Illiad, so it doesn't make sense why your picking that as an example to make your point since there was alot of stuff that wasn't mentioned in the Illiad about the Trojan war.

It's not a Greek fanfic, as Kelp said. It's a Roman fanfic.

Not in the Illiad, but Quintus of Smyrna's Posthomerica described Penthesilea's death at the hands of Achilles, so that's a Greek source right there. (And unlike Apollodorus he seems to have really authored the work in question)

Greek, yes, but one who lived somewhere north of a few centuries AD, during the late Roman/Early Byzantine Empire era. It's about as authoritative WIR the Illiad as Alfred, Lord Tennyson's writings adding to King Arthur's legend.

Which is to say, as much or as little as you want, since it's all "fanfic" either way.

    Fair enough.
