Class Skills
Magic Resistance: A
Cancels all A rank magic and below. As a matter of fact, modern magi are incapable of hurting Astolfo.
By means of Astolfo's "book" Noble Phantasm, this Skill's rank has been largely elevated; normally, it would have been at D rank.
Riding: A+
The ability for riding. Capable of managing even beast with the rank of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast. However, this doesn't apply to dragon kin.
Independent Action: B
The ability to act independently for a period even if magic energy supply from the Master is severed.
At B rank, even if he loses his Master he is able to stay manifested for a period of 2 days.
-----
Personal Skill
Evaporation of Reason: D
The loss of reason. Astolfo is incapable of keeping any and all secrets.
Astolfo would blurt out allies' true name and weakpoint and forget important secrets; at this point, it's already a type of curse.
This Skill also includes the effect of Instinct Skill, making it possible to grasp the most optimum course of action during combat.
Monstrous Strength: C-
Temporarily magnifies STR. However, during the usage of this Skill, Astolfo receives damage every turn.
Down with a Touch!: D
Trap of Argalia. Normally a Noble Phantasm. The jousting lance of the Knight Argalia. It possesses a golden spearhead.
Although its capacity to wound is low, simply wounding the enemy would dematerialise their feet, turning it possible to make them fall down.
To return themself from this fallen down state, a LCK check is necessary. Should it fail, the "fallen down" bad status would persist.
However, each turn there is a LCK upwards adjustment, making the success rate easier.
-----
Hippogriff
Otherworldly Phantasmal Horse
Rank: B+
Type: Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
Range: 2~50
Maximum target: 100 person
Hippogriff.
With the upper body of a griffin and the lower body of a horse, it is essentially an impossible existence of a Phantasmal Beast. Although its rank is lower compared to griffin, a beast from the age of the gods, its charging pulverization attack is equal to an A rank physical attack.
However, this Phantasmal Horse's true value lays somewhere else.
Drawing its origin as a halfling born from a griffin and a horse, its existence is extremely vague; and so it is able to put itself in the gap between dimensions, moving while permeating any and all sorts of attack.
La Black Luna
Magic Flute that Calls Panic
Rank: C
Type: Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
Range: 1~50
Maximum target: 100 person
La Black Luna.
A hunting horn that emits a magical note reminiscent to the neigh of a sacred horse and the howl of a dragon. Those within its range would be struck with the shock of an explosive sound. In the case where the damage is the same or higher than the target HP, they will be turned to to dust and scattered around. It was given to Astolfo by the witch of beauty, Logistilla, and was used to drive away a flock of harpies. Normally it is reduced to a smaller size and hung on the hip, but upon usage it becomes big enough to even encircle Astolfo.
In FateGO it is fundamentally not utilized.
Luna Break Manual
Universal Magic Guide
Rank: C
Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Noble Phantasm
Range: -
Maximum target: 1 person
Luna Break Manual.
Inherited from a certain witch, it is a book with the means to shatter any and all magic recorded within it. Just by possessing it makes it possible to automatically cancel magic A rank and below.
It does not cancel a Reality Marble or a high-thaumaturgy exceedingly close to Reality Marbles to such an extent, but evoking its true name and reading its content makes it a possibility.
...But Astolfo has completely forgotten the true name of this book. Even Universal Magic Guide is just a noncomittal name.
The true name of this Noble Phantasm is "Destruction Declaration"-----Casseur de Logistille.
(In FateGO it is fundamentally not utilized.)

- Character
(*doesnt really think about stuffs)
Just like a bright ads board*, no matter where Astolfo goes, Astolfo is always thoughtlessly optimistic.
So much that Astolfo would carry up and help a homunculus who had managed to wish for help without any particular reason.
For Astolfo, if it is "a deed that gives me a good feeling", then there's no problem whatsoever with it.
Astolfo would act as Astolfo wishes depending on an on the spot judgement, but his high luck is not just for show; most of the time, what Astolfo does end up go smoothly.
(Though there is that one accident where Astolfo got turned into a tree.)
Combined with an evaporating reason, it is not like there is no possibility for one to become liable to depravity--that is, to evil. However, to begin with the program of "doing bad things" basically has been omitted already from Astolfo's head, so it's all good.
*(lit キャッチコピー: large text that appears in ads or brochures to catch the reader's attention)
- Motives and attitude towards Master
Astolfo does not really have any wish towards the Holy Grail.
Astolfo simply and gladly helps anyone who seek to borrow Astolfo's strength.
However, in the case that the Master is recklessly evil, it would be impossible to make Astolfo to do the worst sort of harm. That is due the hidden Noble Phantasm "Destruction Declaration"; even the binding of Command Spells only has dull effect on Astolfo.
Should the Master be a virtuous one, Astolfo would earnestly embrace the Master, devoted to the point that Astolfo would wage Astolfo's own life quite easily. However, due to Astolfo's reason evaporating, there would be many times when Astolfo ends up making outrageous, careless mistakes as well.
- Speech example
"Astolfo of the Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne! Hereby dance as I fall*! Ah, although I don't actually fall!"
"Mm, perfect! Well, I'm tired for now, so I'm taking a break. Bye bye!"
"Alright, Master! I am your sword, your blade, your arrow! Since you really go out and trust someone weak like me, I'm gonna answer you with the best I got!"
(*as in falling leaves dancing and scattering)

Historical depiction
The mood maker of the legend of Charlemagne.
Astolfo's strength is inferior to that of the famed Roland or Oliver, but being a noble knight with bottomless brightness, Astolfo had managed to overcome one uphill task after another.
In the process, Astolfo had obtained many things, from "the golden spear that would topple down anybody" that a man named Argalia had used and "a grimoire that shatters and and all sorts of magic" to even "the Phantasmal Beast hippogriff born from a horse and a griffin", applying them in various adventures.
...Astolfo, who had managed to obtain plenty of magic items, is at the same time also someone who does not really get attached to things. For example, Astolfo had once loaned the spear to the female knight Bradamante, and had readily set free the hippogriff during the journey to the moon.
Perhaps it is due to that personality that is void of greed that Astolfo managed to collect a numerous amount of Noble Phantasm. It is no different now that Astolfo is a Servant; apart from the hippogriff who isn't really going anywhere else, Astolfo would give away most of the Noble Phantasm should there be someone in need for it.
It is said that Astolfo's "reason" resides in the moon--or perhaps a different world that resembles the moon. Due to that, there is a case where Astolfo would regain Astolfo's innate wit during the new moon.
Astolfo had also participated in the fight against the infamous battle of Roncevaux as one of the Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne, and died in the process. Astolfo does not regret any of it... but of course, with the exception of the death of Astolfo's comrade.
To begin with, having a way of life that do not have anything to do with regret or remorse is how Astolfo is.
The fool set off on a trip, gaining various things in the course of it--and then discarded them all, dancing and singing as a fool would cheerfully.

Comment from Illustrator
Since this guy here reaaally just moves on his own, it was quite easy to come up with stuffs like his expression or direction of the design. Still, because progress-wise in Apocrypha version I had to plan him completely and thoroughly, I do remember some hardships. Eventually I did manage to apply some good concepts and ideas eventually, so I was able to enjoy it. Design wise, the area around his lower hip is wider compared to his relatively thinner back, then the shoulder deliberately becomes wider again; full of the cute, bewitching techniques that makes you unaware of his natural shoulder width. (Konoe Ototsugu)
(basically astolfo got the waist women dream of)
