Galatine looking scifi-ish is probably due to it being a literal light saber, as its true blade is made from the light emits from the pseudo sun within the handle (hence why it could still function even after Nero destroyed the blade). Mecha Albion is weird but considering Tiamat having rocket boosters in kaiju form, I imagine all of those billion years old entities are probably scifi-looking.

So I searched where the hell they showed Albion while I wasn't looking and turns that little girl isn't actually Lostbelt Lancelot. Oh.

Also what a wack design. I know I should be used to weird-ass sci-fi in monster and gods by now but I really expected something similar to Saber's dragon core.

The Fairy Knights' relation to the KotR's is

a twist on the "fairy steals your name" folklore. They were given the Round Table's names by Morgan, which also imbued them with their powers. Fairy Gawain is actually Barghest, Fairy Tristan is actually Baobhan Sith, and Fairy Lancelot is actually a piece of Albion.

Here's my theory regarding her design choice, though it's spoilerific, so I'll hide it.

Just wanted to share. Not sure if someone already found this, but I'm starting to see a theme behind Melusine's Third Ascension's design:

A clock.
First thing I noticed was from the rings in her NP.

A clock face, but starts with II and ends with XIII.

Then, her swords become distinct, with one is shorter than the other, representing clock hands. There're hollowed ring on each to affix them to a clock.

The hands allusion is apparent in certain attack animation, where she combined both swords to form a dragon's jaw.


I think it's fitting, given that Clock Tower is built atop Albion's Spirit Tomb. She can be seen as its very foundation.

Other than that, I find it weird her FA appearance differs greatly from her other Ascensions, even the Mecha Albion.

She still respects Sir Lancelot. Even if the knight who blindly rushed to rescue Queen Guinevere never caught sight of her figure on the day everything spiraled to the end… And even if the knight did recognize her but still slew her without hesitation, she respects him all the same.

Maybe but if there was an KoRT they could have bended, Gareth was the prime candidate. The story of them becoming a knight has them being mistaken for a servant and being bossed around by Kay who doesn't recognize her for being Gawain's sibling.

If your talking about why she still respects Lancelot, she is just goodhearted. To her Lancelot is still the perfect knight while he is flawed, in the Nasuverse he still is of a sort. He is torn by his values but he is still a good person, just that he fucked up

Saber's whole thing is that no one cares or questions it as long as she does her job. I don't see any problem with Gareth.

should've gone for a dark souls look or just some weird esoteric fairy look (yes ancient fairy dragon is a thing i know)

Yugioh is certainly bloated with dragons that the Dragon Type wasn't enough and they had to make two more for them.

Anyways, Albion having a clock motif raises an interesting question of did they build a clocktower on it because of that or was it some retroactive influence?

A lot of the material in this thread is useful for people looking for translations. Sadly, the index of this thread has not been updated in over 3 years.

Is there anyone who has a complete collection of all the translations of F/GO material profiles lying around? I was thinking of making a thread in the translations sub-forum to collect all the profiles in one place, and one that isn't a massive sprawling nightmare of a thread.

I don't know if it's complete but https://chaldea.tmdict.com/servant/#en has at least most of the Material translations with each translator credited for the sections they did on the Servants' pages. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to link to the TL's original post.
