Old vet', a bit lost.

Hello there.
I was a member on, what seems, was the previous forum (almost 10 years ago).
This week, I finally took a bit of time to unpack my old Type-Moon stuff (which was, at the time, the 2nd or 3rd biggest collection on this board). I remembered the good ol' BL forum and decided to check if it was still alive. Well, yes ! But everything has changed (ah, no, the dark blue background is still around).

I can't find any sticky of what happened. I only found this thread (hey ! I KNEW THAT GUY !), but there is no explanation (where is Evo ? Why the accounts and all the posts were erased ? Even the White&Purple army is no more ;_; ).

We actually have a thread about the forum history when we aren't shitposting in it or asking about bans. tl;dr: proboards kicked the porn habit, old BL was a casualty, this new forum sprang up from the ashes, and maybe proboards had the right idea if the Prisma Illya thread is anything to go by.

Hmm, if you were around that time, you probably also know aldeayeah, Chaos Greyblood, Depletion Garden, Elf, Roadbuster, Altima, and ZeX (s still active offsite but got himself banned on site.) and possibly Kotonoha depending how long you stayed for. Arai (now known as deadfish)is still very much active as well as Noodleknight, RK, and Banquo

As far as what happened with Evo is that in 2010 Evo decided he wasn't really that active enough to be forum admin as he was focusing on his job and doujin work. Uberchoco (also an admin, not sure if you were around for his crowning) also stepped down. Elf, Roadbuster, Altima, and Inugami took up their spots as forum admins. Inugami went inactive and in the next year, our forum was deleted from proboards for hosting R18 material (aka fanfics), Evo got in contact with Dovac (Sekai Project leader and also owner of Yandere booru) and we migrated to this new site.

Kotonoha's name doesn't ring anything atm, but it was a long time ago (I think I was active 2006-2010).

I dunno how much Tang and DP and the like have saved (and/or how much they've subsequently lost to HD failures, which I think is what happened to Dark Pulse's copy) but I only got my hand on old Questions and Badass VS. I believe the same goes for Left.

They are, however, actual copies of the forum threads and not archive.org instances.

I think if you check out the irc channel #beastslair you might be able to fine more older folks you still know some of them tend to hang out there even now.

Am I that old ? Memory slips. Nostalgia kicks in. At least I'm faster this time ; only 2 years late. And yes, necros are allowed.

Due to the COVID crisis, while cleaning my home, I found (yet again) my TM stash. Mind you, 4 massive trunks on top of each other are hard to miss.

Now, my current problem : I was wondering what happened (10 years ago !) to a friend I had. But, I can't remember his nickname (maybe, like me, he remade it there, and may get an email if I send him a PM). We used to talk using MSN (and play Lycèe TCG !), but the laptop I used at that time has burned a long time ago, and I have no other idea to recover his email.
Roadbuster's time-machine died ; only Tang seems to have one left. I'm sending him a PM. Fingers crossed.

As far as I know Tang only has two threads archived from old BL; despite some talk over the years no other archives have surfaced yet. If you've got any particular anecdotes of that person it might jog the memories of the old-timers here, or maybe you could ask on #beastslair.

Anecdotes ? He was (is) Finnish, so that's that, and like me, he was massively collecting TM stuff.

By the way, by default, we Don't get an email notification when we get an answer or a PM. I won't make the same mistake again, but even if he has a new account here, I probably won't be able to reach him.
